It has been in the works for quite some time. I actually thought we would have them on the shelf earlier this year but as you indicated getting a final product to market like this in a timely manner is not common.
What else works? Doors? Windows? Uconnect?

Did you ever expand upon this? I'm currently shopping around for a th400. I've looked at what HHP sells and OST. HHP sells ATI. ATI is right down the road but they only sell the trans, also on HHP no other accessories are around. Not getting the warm and fuzzies about that. Reached out to OST and am awaiting an email based on some questions. Did you go with either of those vendors or another. I looked at Rossler but my gripe with them is their purchasing process.

So I'm giving my money to a third party in hopes that trans gets built... yeah umm... no...
Since ATI cut all profit from dealers for the sale of their TH400 packages we stopped selling them. If you want an ATI you will need to deal with them directly.
We deal with Carl Rossler who has been awesome to work with and provide great support for us. He even came to our shop personally to inspect an issue we were having with the Rossler TH400 when run in our Hellcat. Great guy and customer support. Keep in mind that you get what you pay for and for most of our customers the Rossler TH400 does not fit their budget.

Just read the thread. Nice build. And you’ve got good people contributing to it. My only input is get a built motor in that thing asap before it goes boom. Enjoy your car. And good luck with it.

So I’m going a bit of a different direction. A friend of mine has a TCI Super streetfighter turbo 400 and put a JW ultra bell on it to go to a gen 3 hemi. We are upgrading all the clutches and doing a billet valve body so it’s more of a custom deal. I will also have to figure out what gear ratios are in it and might have to swap them out as well.

I was going to to go with the package that OST sells but this is Free.99 so I’ll give it a shot first.

Where is @Jroc ? Snowed in?
Hahaha it’s been an unusually warm and dry winter, I’ve just been swamped with a million things going on. I haven’t even looked at my car for months.

I appreciate it. Built motor is happening ASAP as I’m very aware I’m playing with fire here lol.

You’re not wrong there. I also quit my day job and have been planning/ in the initial stages of co-ordinating a cross country move so there has been a lot going on that’s for sure. Actually getting my hellcat shipped to a friends shop on the east coast so he can start all the work on it.

You also have to figure out how to get everything to work, being an A8 car from the factory. OST only gives the goods for the M6
So I’m going a bit of a different direction. A friend of mine has a TCI Super streetfighter turbo 400 and put a JW ultra bell on it to go to a gen 3 hemi. I have it a lot easier than you. I'm not using any of the Dodge modules except the Hellcrate controller and all that will be doing is engine management. Two-step is covered by stage six in unison with Smooth Stage Plus that will cover trans brake and bump. The reason I choose this controller is because it isolates the two step module power and lines from the transbrake power, which is good and clean. No back charge of angry pixies allowed. My gear ratios are 2.48, 1.48, 1. I used the following speed calculator and shifting to figure out where I will be with a 3.09 gear. https://spicerparts.com/calculators/transmission-ratio-rpm-calculator is the calculator I used, this is how the math broke out for me. If this turns out to be a dud since I'm not making enough power I'll get at 3.73.

1st, 2.48, shift point 6500, 70mph
2nd, 1.47, shift point 6500, 118mph

All on a 28" tall tire, then I can ride out third in between 6500 to 7000 to 175-188mph. If I'm going that fast god help me but I should be in the 8.50 index range. My trans is a FTI Stage 5 TH400 and the convertor and plate are Coan.

I also have a metal tank from a whipple 4.5 that bolts to the top of the stock pump, you reuse the mounting bracket from stock pump/plastic tank. just needs an o ring (I have some laying around)

Are you still selling this?

If not can you tell me where you got it?

Hey guys, I'm new here and thought I'd start a build thread for my car.

View attachment 105775

This is my 2015 Challenger Hellcat I bought about a year ago. When I bought the car it had Longtubes, catless mids, 3.09 gears, DSS aluminum driveshaft, diff brace, Fore fuel hat with twin hellcat pumps, ATI 10% balancer, Alky control meth kit, ID1300 injectors, and a 4.5 Whipple. You know what they say about buying someone else's project, I spent the rest of the season trying to get the car sorted with the help of Mike @ostmike (remotely), and during that time added a Whipple big oval throttle body, Fore fuel rails, flex fuel sensor and gauge along with a few other things. The car suffered the weirdest issues, and after finally getting the car flashed back to stock with a WiTech and giving Mike a stock file to tune off of, instead of the mess of a tune that was in the car when I bought it we finally had it up and running. Right when we finally got it decently dialed in, the season ended.

View attachment 105776

I got the car out to the first track rental this year, and the car ran strong first hit, going 9.82@143 MPH with minimal cool down. I sent the log to Mike who sent me a revised tune with more power in the leave and more timing throughout as I was running a 50/50 93 Octane and VP Q16 mix, but unfortunately we never got to see what that would do as the blower ate a bolt immediately after my burnout.

View attachment 105777

Upon tearing it down it appears that whoever installed the blower initially didn't locktite the bolts holding the intercooler to the lower manifold, they loosened off, and the one directly under the bypass valve got sucked up through the bypass, and directly into one of the rotors. I checked the adjacent bolt, and it was loose as well. I had originally planned on building a stroker motor last winter when I first bought the car but after fighting all year to get it running right I wanted at least one season with it before we started from scratch. I have a Whipple 3.8 on the way to replace the Whipple 4.5 that was on it and will just have to keep it turned way down this year to keep the bottom end in tact. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the car will get a 426 or 411 stroker over the winter, along with a TH400 and a cage.

Current parts on the way for the car:
Billet Pre-Production Whipple 3.8 Hellcat supercharger
Nick Williams 130mm throttle body
Legmaker Whipple 3.8 intake
BMR cradle lockouts
AAD drag pack kit
15 inch rear conversion
Billet specialties wheels
Anderson composites Demon cowl hood (to fit the blower)
AWE Touring resonated exhaust
Other misc crap that I forget

Parts here to be installed:
Per4mance development DIRS diff brace
Per4mance development race brace
GeForce Outlaw axle shafts

Happy to answer any questions and will keep this thread updated as parts arrive and are installed.
Sucks about the bolt...

This year has been an absolute shit show, but I'm finally about to get back to work on the car. There's a drag and drive event at the end of August I'm registered for and the crunch is on to get the car done.

A friend of mine had a brand new 8hp95 out of a TRX sitting around and the original plan was to swap the guts into my 8hp90 just to get the car in the event. Turns out my hp90 is too far gone.

So now I have a couple of weeks to slam the TH400 into it, get the bugs sorted out, and try to win this class. I've got everything so far aside from the converter, I'm trying to figure out what the best stall speed would be for this thing. Currently, stock cubes and stock cam with just the big Whipple on it, but I'm planning on eventually doing this 411 stroker build with a demon plus cam from OST. If anyone that's done a TH400 swap has any converter advice I'd definitely appreciate it. @Marc W do you have any thoughts on a converter?

Thanks guys!

I originally got my T400 from OST. They gave me the choice of going with ATI or Coan Engineering. I chose Coan. They had a ‘Hellcat’ package that included a welded converter. I provided the basic info on the power and that it would be primarily for drag racing with occasional street use. They did the rest. It ended up stalling at 4500 rpm with the 1200whp engine. That worked exceptionally well with consistent low to mid 1.2 sixty’s and the occasional high 1.1 when things were right. Last pass with that combination was 8.22 at 167mph. That basic converter is available from Coan for less than $1500. Just need to give them the necessary specs and they’ll build it to work for your package. Better in my opinion than to use a prepackaged guess. If you have a bigger budget… the billet bolt togethers are works of art that will allow fine tuning once you get things dialed in. My original Coan resides in Anthony’s Charger now and the new billet version will be tasked with getting the turbos down the track. IMG_9639.jpeg IMG_4685.jpeg

Thanks Marc, the OST package is a good deal and the way I would have went if this 400 didn't fall into my lap. Unfortunately, I need to do it on a budget right now, so I'll look into the Coan or maybe talk to Mike at OST about ordering one through them.

You can call Coan and talk directly to Todd Redman. He’s my contact there and will answer the questions you have. He’s the individual who was the original tech/engineer that put together their Hellcat 400 package. Do you know what your 1st and 2nd gear ratios are?

Todd was awesome to deal with. Make sure you space correctly, Coan has a pilot bushing made for the correct spacing. Made me feel as if I was the initial customer. He said if there are any issues send it in.

It's been a wild couple weeks.

Due to time constraints and the fact that my buddy had a brand new Trackhawk 8HP95 kicking around we decided what we would do is gut the HP95 and put everything in my HP90 case. Easy enough, right? Wrong. There are case differences, and the the front pump/housing/clutch assembly (I'm not a trans guy, I'm not sure what it's called) doesn't fit as it's just a touch larger than the HP90 assembly and gets hung up on the case.

At that point, we had ten days to get the TH400 in and make the event. That day we test fit the trans, found out we had the wrong bellhousing, and got all the parts we needed ordered rush delivery. A few days later, we got back to it with all the parts, decided to go the David Freiburger motto of "don't get it right, just get it running" for the event, and swapped in a Hellcrate harness and PCM.

My tuner was on Vacation so with hours left before we had to leave for the event I just copied my tune over from my pcm to the hellcrate PCM and we got the car up and running. Went out to try the transbrake and bump box and under full throttle the car just closes the throttle blade to 17% and opens up the supercharger bypass.

We ended up deciding to leave the car at the shop and go out and support our friends in the drag and drive, as opposed to bring the car and start fighting with it. I think that was the right call and allowed us to enjoy the event and just hang with friends.

I'll have to figure out what's going on with the car, I'm sure copying the tune right to the hellcrate PCM probably wasn't the best way to go but I didn't have a ton of options at the time. We are swapping manual harnesses into the car and I'll have to get my PCM bench flashed to a manual OS. Eventually I still want to go with a Holley dominator setup but I'm having a hard time opening my wallet for it knowing just how much other stuff the car needs as well. I am definitely playing with fire with the stock bottom end and I don't feel great about it.
