Ford's full year revenue was $185 billion, with a net income of $5.9 billion (talk about operating expenses):

So if I understand this correctly, Ford's net income of almost $6 billion would nearly double if they nixed the flashlights-on-wheels.

EV's are only ~3% of world vehicles, yet they are severely damaging manufacturers net profits. Anyway you look at it, this is bad business.

EV's have been a problem. Now, sanity is back in the Whitehouse, the EV will go on the back burner, which will enhance profitability for Ford and other auto manufacturers.

Ford is expected to lose 5.5 billion next year on EV’s though. There lineup of EV’s is miserable.

I found this 2023 chart by the "International Energy Agency. Global EV Outlook 2024").
The greatest increase in batt carts was from small countries, so the impact is negligible.

The first large country was Communist China with 38%, and no one cares about Commies.
Next largest is France with 25%, and they're falling apart at the seams.
UK and Germany are both at 25%, and they're equally unstable.
Canada is at 13%, and they're also on shaky grounds.
The USA is at 10%, but there's a new sheriff in town.

From that point down they're all less than 10%.
Japan is at 4%, Mexico at 1%.

The summary I recognize is that EV's are popular in countries that are either antagonistic, or on the world econimic stage at least, irrelevant.

And there you go.
We won't even talk about the world's frail power grid and its inability to support a large number of batt carts.
Or the $1,000 US to $1,500 US it costs to install Stage 2 chargers in people's homes that many in society can not afford.
Or how there's a gasoline station every 2 blocks from most people's homes and you can fill up your ICE vehicle in 2 minutes.
Or how a worn out 10 year old battery pack costs $35k to replace and your flashlight cart is basically junk at that point due to fininacil costs.

Maybe they should have stuck with what we all wanted to buy! No EV for me ever.
