Does anyone have the SDG lid spacer? Pros, cons? Any measurable performance gain? Looking for info, appreciate it. Feel like no one is even on this forum anymore and it’s just @1971demon at 3am yelling at clouds

I'm here, but have no idea what you're talking about.
I can attest that at about 2 to 3 am, I hear the faint echo coming from (possibly) the New York area, as it does have a @1971demon Yankee sounding accent.

might this be something similar to the FI supercharger spacers and thermal blanket some are using?

I've seen it listed on their site. Can't see how it could possibly provide any benefit at all. Just means the air has a big buffer before being forced through the cooling bricks--which equates to a longer path to travel to reach to the intake. It could conceivably introduce some boost lag.

Their claim is it allows air a chance to cool down or something, I guess by allowing more surface area for the air to flow through the bricks

It doesn't change the surface area of the opening on the bricks at all...
It does provide more surface area on the lid itself so if the ambient under hood temp is helping to cool then sure, /maybe/ it could help--but w/o some direct back-to-back comparisons impossible to say. If it works well maybe it's a possible alternative to a chiller--costs a lot less--definitely wouldn't help as much as a chiller, but who knows, maybe it could be an option for someone. They show two "pretty" pictures but don't show any actual data of intake temps to back up the claim. For $800 I'd want to see what the data shows.

No, it gives the air area to expand and be less dense (in theory) before entering the bricks

It might also either allow for more turbulence impeding flow or reduce turbulence aiding flow. Hard to say w/o doing a FEA simulation, or a bench test.

Price includes him sending you a box and he puts a label in it. So pretty much covers 3 ways of shipping

I thought everyone already ran the spacer I ran one before I put the Nitrous Outlet spacer on for the Whipple plate system otherwise I would have run the F1 spacer. I used the one from F1 chiller it does seem to lower IAT's slightly. I just bought the snout seperately and sent mine is as a core.

I lot of ppl experience this grinding sound when doing the snout almost sounds like bearings need replacing but its just the harmonic rattle it makes after being ported and as soon as u give it a little gas the sound goes away but at idle it doesnt give u that warm and fuzzy feeling lol

If I was gonna send my blower out to anyone to have the bearing plate done it would be Jokerz for their race blower package. F1 spacers are half the price but the SDG does look like a nice piece but ull gain very little imo and at $800 idn. Nice billet piece tho. Id probably opt for it but I like to waste money on shit I really dont need so..... lol

The traditional FI spacer separates the blower from the heads. This spacer separates the lid from the blower. Not sure if you could run both and still close the hood.
The FI spacer works, both thermally and adding runner length. The SDG spacer, not sure I’m buying into that.

Yeah, I have the FI spacers already. I have an aftermarket hood, so I’ll never have height issues there. That’s why I’m trying to see if anyone’s actually bought it and seen gains and what they were or what changes they saw
