A chain and an arm won’t stop anyone from stealing these cars. They can get in without having to smash anything.

I have no choice. I live in Manhattan. I pay 700 a month to park it. It is away from other cars in that garage behind chain and to get out of the garage you need to swipe the key card. I dont know what happened but I didnt see anything messed with to assume that it was broken into.
Please excuse my honesty:

This is painfully simple. You want to live in a s'hole to make big bucks, then you complain about the problems you face living in a s'hole making the big bucks.

Most of us accept a lower income and not living in a s'hole.

Did I miss something?

Yea you did. Nowhere did I complain about the “problems I face”. All I simply asked was advice about the issues with my car.
This “shithole” is my home. I was born and raised here in Manhattan. I have not lived anywhere else in my life.

Thats good for you that you and others accept lower income not to live in a shithole.

I work at a hedge fund running a M&A division. I cant do that in a bumblefuck town.

So idk the point of that post was other than to shit on NYC and people who live here. Probably assuming Im a hardcore liberal New Yorker. Registered Republican here, voted for the President Elect 3 times.

Anyways, have a good day.

Uhh ToRed has a point...he's not complaining about his living situation...or even the expense of parking his car..it would seem the only complaint he seems to have is the unexplained gremlins that plague his HC...which may have nothing to do where the car is parked

You don’t have to live in a shit hole to make “big bucks”. Some of us are fairly comfy financially here.

Real big bucks? Ever been to Omaha?

Typical New Yorker! Tough as nails and stays on point! :D He sounds much more polite that the NY'ers I know and have known! Hey Red, you are ok, and certianly deserve a lot of credit as a conservative living there!

Although one really odd thing happened. The actual key wouldnt turn in the lock cylinder on the door.
Ok, back on topic, did you buy it new?
Did the key ever work?
Did disconnecting the battery, then after the car fully discharges (turning on the headlight switch helps speed the process), then reconnecting the battery, did the start/stop button work properly?

These cars are so smart, they can be stupid. I disconnected a tail light once, then moved the car with it disconnected. The car gave a warning about the taillight, then after reconnecting, the tail lights did not work!

The car sensed a prob with the taillight, then shut them down. Then it never recognized that they were reconnected. I had to disconnect the battery, turn on the headlights for 10sec, then reconnect the bat. Then every thing is fine.

I am almost to the point in believing that disconnecting the battery on a regular basis is good preventative maintenance.
