CO2. You can see it sticking out of the lower part of the shifter at the rear. With that Dominator you can pick your rpm and let it do it perfect every time. I don’t even have to think about it. View attachment 133554 IMG_4961.jpeg

Through a very generous person I now have a wild fuel system going in my car. More on this as it happens. The drivetrain is almost done. Now its onto engine and electronics. In the meantime Ive gotten very intimate with Holley, themes and logging. My logging will be activated as soon as the car is in first gear… well how will the Dominator know what gear Im in…

motion raceworks to the rescue.

Not one but two screens…

All of it. Once supercharger is mounted it will be race radiator and electrical and that’s it.

Very nice! I’m using some of the hard foam that comes as protective packing for some of the parts we buy. The Holley digital screens are one example. Easy to cut and squeeze into open spaces like that. Clean , lightweight way to fill spaces like that. I don’t have picture of it in the car but I still have a piece. IMG_6425.jpeg

I have a few sheets of that stuff between the screens and the dominator, this is a good idea. Also for anyone doing solid metal to Holley mounts, I am using a rubber washer as well to absorb impact and keep metal off the Holley screens so they don't have friction marks.
Nice work, looks great
Thank you.

A local Maryland fabricator has put out a few videos about roll cages/bars and fabrication.

He is giving me ideas.

Speaking of your Dominator …. Go to Motion Raceworks and search for their Dominator Cable Saver. It’s a $20 device that protects the cable connection where the data cable plugs in. That cable is something that will stay plugged in and if it ever accidentally gets snagged or pulled on, it will break that plastic connector. That will require sending it back to Holley for repair. The plug with the blue cap…. IMG_8313.jpeg

$.02……. I will always say to go with a pro built cage. Passing tech is one thing. Real protection is another. I would advise, if going with a 8.5 cert, have it built to a pre 7.5 level. That way if your car ends up pushing below 8.5 you can add on and up-cert it. The bare minimum 8.5 when it comes to tubing requirements and such can not simply be added onto. It would have to be removed and started over.
To circle back to this just locked in with the man, the myth, the legend himself Mr. Jason Brazzel. For those not aware this is the car he fabricates for:

I think I am in good hands and yes @Marc W it is being built so that it can be upgraded in the future. Drop off last weekend of May and get it back after that, the paint is going to match the current color scheme.

Relaxing Sunday project. Also learned I don’t like 4043 aluminum rod for welding. Here we go.

initial look at what needs to happen IMG_2517.jpeg
Removed black plastic crap
IMG_2523.jpeg
Cut off white plastic
IMG_2525.jpeg
Filled in these vent holes
IMG_2527.jpeg
IMG_2529.jpeg
Cleanest its been in 14 years
IMG_2532.jpeg
IMG_2533.jpeg
cuts and fitment

Final temp product
IMG_2538.jpeg
for some reason I could not weld a L bracket to the tank. I was blasting it with 160 amps on 30/70 at 90hz and it wasnt having it. Welding coach says ditch 4043 rod and use 5356. Says the silica content is less and wont look like pepper if overheated. TBD if it needs to go up in height. @Marc W has a similar cut out.
