I'm thinking of going back to 305 but my 315's are so consistent & hardly ever have traction problem & they look better but at the track that doesn't mean as much.
I'm going to open the diff to look everything over as well as try and get the axle out that way.
When putting back together is a new OEM gasket instore and do I have to use anything to put over the gasket like Tribond?

Sorry this happen Jon, obviously you'll know more when you get the axle out, if it is just the axle I would think about upgrading, I did & went with RE / Demon axles that I found on Ebay with 1k miles on them for 1/2 the price of new.
Do you have 2.62 or 3.09 ?
Cruise the movie theatres at a late show. Find the RE parked at the edge of the lot in the dark to avoid door dings, and there you go. Few tools and some jack stands and your good to go.
How about a set of axles from a 1320? They are supposed to be the same ones as the Demon and I'm pretty sure you can get them without all the Demon hassle.
edit.....nevermind,....you said you bought a set of axles already.
Stock axles a pretty tough. I race with Chad who has the 9 second M6 car. His lasted a very long time. I'll let mine break and replace. I'm very careful about wheel hop.
Jon have you tried banging the diff on a piece of wood to jar the axle stub out?

So the axle is out. I split the case tore it apart.
next time I’ll just do this. Way easier than all the time I’ve wasted.
I have to finish putting the diff back together.
