Posting in here because I dont see a transmission section.

Been doing some digging around and info is limited. Im looking into possibly putting in a torque converter over the winter. Firstly, my car....

2017 Dodge Challenger Hellcat A8
Gen V 3.0 whipple (3.25upper 10%lower)
1650inj
E85
Triple fuel pump
LT headers
LMI
1320 front and rear springs
Fully adjustable rear end
3.09 DIFF
P4D diff brace
Cradle and diff lockout
15in conversion
315/60/15 drag tires
305/45/20 street tires

Just wondering for starters if the demon converter would even be the right one for me. If not Which one?
Secondly, pros to switching converters.
And thirdly differences for street driving with a different converter.

Just gauging who has made a swap and to what. And overall thoughts on the swap

We have similar cars and I have thought the same. Demon would be only thing I would consider but probably the stock one is fine like @Hatermkr said

I was seeong alot of people going to the demon convertor and loving it. Little big higher stall with more torque multiplication allowing to hit tires harder on the launch and transfer weight back better. Id just like to hear from someone who's done it and what their actual results were also commenting on street driving characteristics as well

You decide. When driving the car…. How does it respond to rpm. Does it try to push through the brake at or just above idle? Are you having to push harder on the brake to keep the car from moving when coming to a stop. If it’s comfortable with all that then you’re good. If the answer is yes… go to a Demon.

I had one in my 73 charger with a 383 in it. Worked great, If I remember right it had a lifetime warranty till they went out of bussiness

yep, me too - building my first race car ('70 Nova) as a broke college student in late '80s a new GER went in; it allowed the car to move ok, but I didn't get to use it much. have no idea what it actually stalled at or what happened to it.

So back to the op question. How much will a demon convertor help with 1/4 times 60ft?

No High stall convers! With your setup you will just blow the tires off or brake stuff. Demon converter if anything nothing more. @hellno at some point will be releasing something similar to a demon converter but with an extra clutch. If I were to switch converters that is what I would get.

Good Morning @Jon-MooredPerformanceLLC

I guess to help with the question.
What is the stall going to be for this new converter?
What are you suggesting for the stall?

Thanks
Linda

Prolly not going to be ready this winter for install unfortunately. But my car is still on the stock redeye converter. It has cut numerous 1.2x 60s so if you want to do one this winter. I don’t think you will go wrong

Standard demon converter? Can get those for $1k off HHP.

Wondering how it drives on the street and the pros to it? Just being able to load up more on the line?
