The Pirellis Are Junk. Suggestions?

I have a pair sitting in the garage but they’re wet performance isn't very good according to the testing. Wet stopping is about 20+ feet longer than the Michelin and Yokohama adven.

I have them on the rear because they are a good rain tire for a DR but Florida gets way more rain then I do

In Florida you can't take the car out in the summer and never have it rain. Besides the wife drives it.

I used the old all seasons on the stock fronts (until the lathe incident) when all of them went in the dump because of the danger of further tread distintegration. Then PS4S on the front with Nitto 555Rs or MT on the 11.5" rears. Extra wide PS4S on the rear gave me a really weird sideways oscillation under hard acceleration that, while easily controlled, was nevertheless disconcerting. So they were taken back by the manufacturer with a full refund.

I assume you’re looking for a Summer tire based on your location?

I had the Michelin PS4s on my previous Scat Pack and Hellcat, loved them for daily driving, highway driving, spirited canyon runs, etc, but they’re getting pricey.

I currently have the Continental DWS 06+ in my current Hellcat and like them just as much as my PS4s on my previous Hellcat. I chose them over a Summer tire because I drive mine on nice Winter days when the temps are too cold for Summer tires.

I also currently have a new set of Continentals on my wife’s Jeep Grand Cherokee L and they ride great as well.

Have the all season Michelin Pilot Sport 4s on my BMW and they ride fantastic as well.

I’d highly recommend either brand, in either the all seasons or the Summer tires. In my experience, none of the tires I’ve had “track” on the road (or whatever it’s called, where you feel it pulling with the grooves) and they ride great.

My Challenger HC is my daily driver. Have to expect the occasional unforcasted shower, so I wasn't up for DRs. I chose the Continental Extreme Contact Sports. 275 in front, 305s on PKs on the rear. Obviously can break them loose, like I think is true for any non-DR. But overall, really happy wet or dry. 1st winter, I put the stinky Pirelli Allseasons on.
This last winter I ran the ECSs ...teens, 20's, 30's....even these summer tires better than the Pirellis. I will buy them again, but still plenty of tread (D and W's both still visible) @ approaching 20k miles. Worth a look I think!

Wrong speed rating and the load rating needs to be XL.

I'm having trouble finding the right tires. None with the correct speed or load rating. Guy at discount tire wanted to sell me a low speed tire and when I told him that, he asked if I ever was going to drive that fast...
I probably will asshole.
It's been a learning experience.

Seems like the tire dealer could be liable if they sold you a tire that didn’t meet speed rating requirements if something happened like a blowout?🤔

From all the posts that I’ve read in my tire research, I’ve heard 315s will rub on a Challenger. And you’d really want 11” width wheels to accommodate.

I ordered the 305 MPS4S today even though they’re not XL. They’re going on 10.5” width wheels.

A 315/35 rubs the front. The PIA tire problem in a Widebody is a tall front tire or even a misplaced backspace on an aftermarket wheel can cause a 305/35 to rub! Where the rear rib in a narrow body drives everyone nuts, that is the WB nemesis. It happens upon a turn in. The outside edge of the tire makes contact with the front liner. Opposite can happen with the rear liner.
I use a 325/30 on an 11” wide wheel up front for the street and the same on a 12” wide wheel on the track. That is tight but works. The rear has magical room.

The 325/30’s? What a bargain at $516/each.

I sure looked at my six 305/35’s that are nearly new for my OEM 20’s and thought to myself Sunday, I may use these entirely up before I need to spend over $2,500 on new track tires! For starters this year, that car has the OEM wheels and 305’s installed. I am not going to even use my “bigger” rubber on the street until it gets real warm and real clean. I may use these smaller units more often on the track also. This has gotten stupid, and I don’t want to support it. I’ll wait out a Recession or damn Depression and another Election. We better not allow voting boxes to be stuffed with bullshit again either!
