I think the engines are built in Saltillo. Funny that the engine traveled up to Canada to travel right back home to Saltillo again before going north again to Juarez....lol

I know! Ridiculous right? The desler told me thatbthey change the tires in Saltillo too, they supposedly travel on train with other tires. That doesn’t sound that strange when you know Mexico extracts tons of oil and send it all tonthe US to refine instead of building oils refineries. Seems like extracting is more profitable than refining, but anyways...
sorry I chnaged the subject, it’s late here, too much IPA and Islay single malt, my cat is gonna be here soon!!!

Sure looks like Pierre will be enjoying his Challenger long before we get the 'Hawk.

As of today it's in D1, which isn't bad for only 10 days since ordering, but it's two more than what it took to reach that status last time. At this pace it won't arrive until late March, or so.

I'll have to get in touch with Scatpacksam and find out how he dealt with this painfully slow process.
Oh wait, he didn't. Never mind.

Moved to "J" (inspection OK) and then to "JB" status today (Shipped to body vendor)......not sure what that really means, I didn't order stripes, graphics pkg or black hood.

"KZ" status this morning (Released by plant , invoiced)

Your first was an anomaly, you hit it at the right timing. Generally, it takes 5-7 weeks for any ordered Grand Cherokee to be built and delivered.

Well, I didn't panic when the Challenger took over four months to get delivered (after being built), so I figured that my anxiety account needs to be used up, at least to some extent.
The last order sure didn't accomplish that, showing up a month quicker than I had expected.

Besides, I would've felt bad if this one actually did arrive before Pierre finally got his car.

Today I found out that the D1 status has reversed back into D, where it's been for five days now.
Pierre, did your Challenger end up with an engine destined for a Jeep, by any chance?

I hope not buddy! I really wish yours gets back to D1 soon, it looks like these status are just to try to help people wait but the lack of info and logic make it worse.

You're right. And I'm a slow learner.
It's just that I'm trying to plan ahead (which never works out as it's supposed to, anyway) and in the meantime my girlfriend is trying to keep the miles down on the trade-in.

Hey, that's a long trip. It deserves stopping for a break, I think.

It has travelled 2,444 km in about 10 days, and has about 516 more km left to make it to Nuevo Laredo where it will be imported to Mexico. Then 300 more km to Saltillo, Mexico. The ETA to Saltillo y march 12th, and then about a week to Juarez, I guess the importation process takes several days...
Anyway, each day I’m closer to the birnt rubber smell and SC whine, that makes me happy.
