Exactly why a lot of folks go with Cat- RE swap in 68-70 B Body MOPAR’S. Full stock weight could be 3,600 / 3,900 Lbs.
Great classic look, power to weight reduction, able to slam some good size meat in the Wheel well even without mods.

This Is exactly what the 170 is all about & Ron is representing modern Day D. Carlton techniques power to weight ratio, cept he is going more closely to pure bone stock and resenting brand very well as did the Motown Missile Back in the day.

Above key word “Closely‘“ not going engage in the definition of stock with any one, it’s pretty damn close!

Thanks for clarifying! I don’t think everyone was asking about the 170 specifically, a lot of people run 17” wheels and might be considering these. I know I was (am) depending on the carnage. I do have my cradle locked out. If something can damage the actual sheet metal of the car, that’s useful information that would benefit all challenger owners. Appreciate it! Maybe @cole3986 can chime in with the specifics of what exactly gets damaged
Way back when Cole asked a second time, nicely, I called him. I don't like posting negative things about the car and I did not want to get too involved with this thread. Especially since I did not start it.

This is not Rocket Science. If you want your Demon 170 to be pristine, do not run them. If you can handle minor damage, then Lock out the Cradle and run them. If you can handle kind of a lot of Damage then run them without the cradle lockouts. But, either way it's just the taller tire rubbing on the car. With Lockouts they will STILL rub on the tub and the bolt at the front. So grind it down or change it out for a pan head. They may still kiss the bottom of the fender flare.

Or pictures. I'll have to go look at what bolt can be swapped for a pan head.

I also don't think you have to damage a car when racing it. I've got a stack of time slips an inch tall from Go Man Go and that car was mint.

Amazing! Can you please post some pics or more information on what exactly gets damaged from the 315/55s Ron? I’m about to pull the trigger on them but want to know exactly what’s going on. I have a narrow body

Does anyone know where I can get Demon 170 sensor deletes for the front seatbelts to remove them because I purchased a five harness kit?

I would probably slam the front end and destroy the suspension along with the oil pan.
Ride it out

I don't know what I would do since I've never had a wheelie like that before. I've always been prepared to give it a quick pedal just in case.

keep floor to the floor and shift, to keep power going so it doesn't slam.

At this point.. you’re committed. You can’t see where you’re going, but if you chicken out and lift, there will be consequences 😳 IMG_4585.jpeg

I watched a few commited cars at Lights Out. Some went up on the back bumper and another one started doing a pirouette.

I would need fresh shorts after that.

obviously the guy in the video didn't get my advice soon enough. SHIFT but stay on the throttle. otherwise you will slam back down causing damage to the car and the track.

Exactly, grab the next gear keep power going to the wheels to keep it from slamming. definitely do no lift!!
