Thats how the nightmare began. I did exactly
that. Next thing you know he’s telling me how I’m only there for the discounted deal they were offering online. Basically calling me cheap.That was their big sell. Offer below Msrp on new Wranglers but then try and make it up by pressuring you on the extras. I said “You're right, we flew here at our expense for the deal. If I wanted to pay more, I could have bought one in my hometown and not paid for two flight tickets”. Never seen anything like it and im in the business. He was relentless and if I had a vehicle there already we definitely would have left. Had to tell him this was a toy, not a necessity, and we certainly didn’t need a $70,000 Wrangler, so cut the shit or we were leaving. Almost three yrs later it still pisses me off.
I get it..while not in the business..I have many friends that are..one in particular is a F&I guy for a multiplex dealer...he does extremely well...works insane hrs.long after the dealer closes...ownership is on him constantly...grinding him to wring every dollar outta a customers wallet...it's a high stress job..and ownership s relentless..it's never enough...he makes a TON of money..(high volume dealership)..and I believe he gets a percentage of all the packages he sells...which are mainly bullshit he says

I had an issue with a local Ford dealership. Ordered a F150 with the Xplan. Truck came in and the manager came over and started complaining about them not making any money.
I told him that he was full of shit and I know how they get paid. He continued and I told him that I had to think about it and left.
The salesman called me, who is a friend's son and I told him I wasn't taking the truck.

This is why I never took a management position when I was in the car business. I always said that it was just 1 seat closer to the door.
It's a tough..(sometimes dirty business)

It's a tough..(sometimes dirty business)
It was very difficult finding a dealership to work at because of this. The 1 place that I felt was legit, the GM was arrested for stealing money because of his gambling addiction.

They were willing to bend you over for the desirable stuff.
They can eat the EV shit.

And I second Slowpoke's experience. I was trying to get a deal done on a HC and kept getting screwed around.
Terrible place to buy a car from IMO
