I did the same thing. I don’t have a picture of it with the bumper cover off but mine comes out under the plate. I’ve deployed the thing at near 180 so it works. I’m just wondering how much weight difference there is. That stock extruded impact bumper is pretty stout.

Bolt on Jons will be behind the bumper to take the chute off so the plate will hide the hole.
Tim that is making it does mustang bumpers. I had a chute mount on my 87 mustang back in the mid 2000's. I told him there may be a market for a tubular front bumper for our cars. It won't be as light as the aluminum ones out there but it will be steel. I'm think somewhere around 12 lbs saving. One of the reason to use them on the mustangs was when you take the inner bumper out the fascia can collapse at speed going down the track.

Some thoughts on replacing the bumpers…. Some may remember that my blue car had a mishap at the Houston event last year. Got into the wall nose first. Had that steel impact bumper not been there, the hit could have been much worse. As it turned out… the engine and trans did not suffer any damage. If that impact had gotten back into the motor 😳
4390 lbs only stock drivers seat in. Also harness bar with 5 point belts and 8 gallon ice tank. Drop in rods and pistons. Years of tuning, dialing it in. 4500 + with Michelle driving. Take some stuff out!!
