running a curt tune on E85 ported blower 1300 inj 2,72 upper 10% lower

Wow. 1300s and stock pumps can not handle that boost even with a bap. I went ported and maxed the pumps and dual bap and 1650s early in the year and I think that is what caused the problem but can’t be for sure. That was a 2.85 upper. This car was a Curt car before I owned it and it was being spun to 6750. Which if your car is tuned that high of rpm and that pulley combo I’m surprised it all held together.
i wonder what it is about cylinder 2 tho? Also interesting we look identical. I’m not sure your plan but I highly recommend @Hatermkr for your build. He will be fair to you and talk to you about your build

Someone along the lines have spoke about rods twisting, might have been AJ quite some time ago. I believe Redeye rods and pistons are sub par Jon’s got the good stuff now!

Someone along the lines have spoke about rods twisting, might have been AJ quite some time ago. I believe Redeye rods and pistons are sub par Jon’s got the good stuff now!
I was the first to use Oliver rods in these engines
I don’t think you can get a better rod. I did use 625 rod bolts in mine.
The good thing is when you build most stroker engines you use a 6.125 rod witch is actually a small block Chevy rod.

If I were building a max-effort engine today with steel rods, I would use only Carrillo I-beam or Callies Ultra I-beam rods, never Chinese garbage. Just my $0.02.

They’re lighter. Meaning less material. They’re made to make redeye power more efficiently, not hold up to mode. Old school hellcats are the best for modding

My last one had Callies ultra I beam the Oliver rods are a better rod hands down

Like I said, 15 years ago, Oliver is all I used in my own engines. Builders and racers I trust have reported numerous Oliver rod failures in the last few years, mainly since "the thing" happened. I don't know any more details on the cause, whether material quality or manufacturing quality issues. Just sharing what I hear. A common theme is also the physical move from prior location to northern Michigan - "not the same operation".

I live in Michigan so using a Michigan rod was a plus for me. I know I talk to some Chevy racers and I told them I was using Oliver’s and they all said very good rod. Everyone has their own experience. I’m happy with the Oliver’s. @Hatermkr is spinning his engine harder than I will and he’s yet to have a rod failure. He’s also used Oliver’s on a ton of his builds.
there are for sure many other really good options out there but the rods are not a concern of mine.

Wish I would of known about him already ordered a new motor and didn’t have a core to build
