I would ask dick, but he died out when Viagra was invented. He was a moonshiner from NC and just gave him more fame. He was a good driver. I would have done a Lizzy Bordon job on their ass.

I am throwing out my old school methods and thinking
Despite the ignition working strong power to items such as radio lights etc, a try at a jump start along the way load test at autotive shop showed bad battery
We are now driving our hellcat once again!!!

How about a kid last name was Ball and his first name was Cannon..... True story!.....Anyhoo.....I was reading about batteries going bad was not ever knowing much about sulfate issues myself. So after knowing these batteries are expensive any more and just had one replaced under warranty on the 19 Ram ( Which I was convinced was not a battery but it turned out it was) It seems if they sit quite a bit they sulfate more than usual from not being charged at the optimum 80 to 90% range. So I bough a Battery mender that keeps the battery charged at the optimum ranges to prevent sulfate build up and disulfates the battery as well among a few other functions like testing your battery, Alternator etc. When I placed it on the Hellcat battery and removed the battery tender that had been on all winter it took almost an entire week to Disulfate the Hellcat battery which was only 4 months old when I parked it in the garage for winter with 3400 miles! I then bought another Battery Mender to keep on the Ram. It took three weeks to Disulfate the battery! Next I will buy two smaller Battery Mender for the Boat, Gator and mower out on the Pole Barn and replace all my Battery Tenders I have used for years to Battery Menders!

Sorry for the long story, but I thought it was worth posting if there was a few who may know what I have learned, and could save some batteries from these awesome cars that sit quite a bit. Hundred bucks is not much to invest if it saves the life of batteries at the current cost batteries not to mention the PITA tp go thru the stress when least expected of a crazy ass battery on the blink!

Resuscitation alert.

The "new" multi-door ('23 Charger, aka Crew Cat) didn't start today. I wasn't surprised and had already asked the dealer to put a new battery in it before shipping it. Well, that didn't happen.

It'd been on a solar charger for about 12 hours before today's starting attempt, but that apparently wasn't anywhere near enough, surprise, surprise.

Okay, so I put a good battery in it - happens to be the same 94R as in a 1500 - and...still no cranking. Hmm. Wonder if it's a bad fob. Tried the other red fob, no difference. Tried the black one, resulting in success.

But, the red fobs will lock and unlock it.

My girlfriend's been communicating with the dealer, initially about the abused battery, then about only one fob working (this is in real time as I'm writing this).

Turns out there's a chip on the key ring that must accompany the key in use, which happened to be the black one. That's good news. Now it remains to see if the nearest dealer will accept her showing up with the original bad battery and get a new one...without bringing the car.

I'd never heard of anything like this chip, but if someone else runs into this issue, here's the solution. You can't leave home without it.

Wtf? A chip? Is that their new security? Lol. You now need 2 fobs to start the car, like 2 keys to launch a nuke. Seems like overkill to start a car

Needing a new battery in a '19 is a bit early, but certainly not unheard of. Measuring the voltage is rarely an indication of if the battery is still good.

Invest in a load tester, they're cheap. Or take the battery to an auto parts store and have them test it.

It's a good idea to check the battery. On my '22 Challenger Redeye, was a little weak when starting, had it checked at the dealer, bad battery. My Hellcat was only 1 1/2 years old!

It's a good idea to check the battery. On my '22 Challenger Redeye, was a little weak when starting, had it checked at the dealer, bad battery. My Hellcat was only 1 1/2 years old!

My 22 SS won't remote start with FOB I have to get in and push the button, but then again it is 6 degrees with 35-40mph winds so its butt ass cold, even in the garage.
