my commentary accounted for the flexplate to the wheels. I would love to have a breakdown of the just the trans/converter and diff/axles separately, but have never seen anything in public. @Speedy! 's estimate is a bit better than mine, but in the ballpark. The M6 should be even better yet, as alluded above. Just for comparison, in my racing days, trying to search for the perfect converter to stall where needed but slip as little as possible on the top end I would often chase just converter losses in the neighborhood of the entire modern Dodge drivetrain. Might not be fair though comparing a non-lockup, PG/9-inch combo with the ZF trans/lockup converter and likely a more efficient diff, but it seems pretty darn impressive to me.

Hellcats are, shocker, under rated from the factory. Rule of thumb is you’ll make 20-25 hp who less with the a8

Many variables. I’ve been told that the T400 eats a ton of hp. One tuner said up to 100 more than the A8. I’ve read how the design of the Ford 9” contributes to its strength but also eats hp. Those big drag radials on the roller… another 50hp. The computer programs that use the car and track performance data, and estimate hp are more accurate than dyno rwhp with a standard15% driveline loss.

My bone stock 2015 m6 put down 686 to the wheels on dyno jet.

Do you know what the DA was by chance?

The $250,000 Mobil Dyno Jet dyno I was on at the car show supposedly has an algorithm to measure drive train friction losses by letting the car coast out after a dyno pull. ie clutch in or shift to neutral at the end of the pull and let the car coast down and the machine would calculate the difference in time and energy to do such verses empty rollers but unfortunately it was the owners first time operating the rig and not even the Dynojet rep that was there knew how to operate the thing. Was 1 of only 2 built so far, 1 on east coast one on the west coast he said. I didn’t even get to make a pull, they couldn’t even get my cat strapped down right and I aborted the attempt. Maybe I’ll run into them again as they said they planned on doing allot of car shows coming up, yet to see them again and they only live about 25 miles away.

That’s corrected. You always correct for optimal Da. That’s the true way to dyno a car, doesn’t matter what it makes if it was 90 degrees or 30 degrees, you should correct to what it will make when conditions are optimal. Place was probably 200’ above sea level

But yeah, car was very hot, that’s was the 3rd bsck yo bsck pull with no cool down period because they didn’t pull the (abs?) fuse. Was about 90 degrees out, hot and humid

Car wouldn’t go above 500 whp on the dyno, pulled fuse, then got the real number

If I find the dyno sheet I’ll post a pic which shows the correction method

That's the highest I've seen on a bone stock Hellcat. I believe you but I thought most stock Hellcats pull between 640/650. I do believe some are stronger than others..

Yeah, we considered it a “factory freak” at the time

That’s a lot for an a8, which makes sense mine was a little bit more. They really did underrate the old ones. Mine was built March 2015

I think of racer x saying his charger was 1000hp and he was adding percentages and what ever to come to that. I have always been rear wheel hp numbers and even on 2 different dynos you will get different numbers. For me it really comes down to the drag strip with times and mph

That’s why I said that the computer programs where you put in the car data and the track data and it spits out how much hp you’re making is more accurate than trying to convert rwhp from a dyno pull.

Virtual dyno, but you need to do a 4th/6th gear pull from 40mph until it readlines in that gear lol
