Honestly if I had that hood I would have it fully wrapped in Xpel Stealth and then coated. Protect the look and so much easier to clean.

I have a 2015 with over 25k miles on it. Driven in light snow, Torrential down pours, and through Florida in the middle of summer. I have never done anything other than a wash with mild soap (Griot's Garage car wash) and water. Dry it with a 100% cotton baby diaper.

Still looks like new. I wouldn't do anything more. Just my opinion.

Yes you can ceramic coat it, mine was done and doesnt change the appearance. If tou Xpel it, DO NOT ceramic coat the Xpel. It (the ceramic) inhibits the wraps healing capabilities, ask me how I know.
So, its one or the other.

You use the same soap for satin and gloss finishes? Had not heard baby diaper, cool idea.

If I understand your question. Yes, I use Griot's Garage Car Wash for the entire car.

had a T/A with the satin hood and ceramic'd it all. Looked great, easy to take care of and zero issues winter or summer with the hood, or the decals and vinyl on the roof/trunk.
Very easy to take care of. Testors satin black model paint is a perfect match for the hood BTW.

I have the Dr Beadley’s kit that includes the seal coating but been paranoid of using it, I've only used the Cleaner. Did you use the seal kit in the Beasley kit as well? My hoods a PAIN, gets water spots, water lines, I hate even washing it as if I don’t dry it off immediately it ends up with spots and blemishes, I actually HATE IT after 2 years

I'm not sure about flat black, but Testors usually has a half-dozen variants of each color.

Can you give us the Testors number off of the bottle you used?

Please?

I have a spot...

Sure can. They have specific ceramic coatings for matte.

I like it although it does take just a tad of the matte away. Call it 8 out of 10 of the “matte-ness” scale! 2A928054-E855-4FAD-BAA8-538A7FFFBB2A.jpeg

Looks great. Been curious to see it as my installers said it has a matte finish. Killer!

@BULL
its called semi gloss, not the flat I touched up 4 spots on my T/A and had a tough time finding them again
YMMV but it worked well for me, having said that my hood was also ceramic coated and Im not sure to what, If any, extent that may have changed the satin-ness or flat-ness vs uncoated. Pic of the bottle attached. sorry about the late reply IMG_3953 copy.jpg
