Best all around tire?

I am still running my original Pirelli Summer tires and may be looking to upgrade. I would like improved traction off the line but not compromise handling. I want good traction at the strip and not lose blowing up the tires off the line on street. I don’t drive in winter and try to avoid rain. Not interested in drag radials either. Probably want stock size as well. What have you guys tried and recommended? I know it’s asking a lot but want best all around tire. My car is stock automatic 2016 Hellcat.

Dude, you are the exact right person for drag radials! It will feel like you added 100 horsepower just because of the hook. Let the car realize it's potential! While they don't quite feel like regular street tires, I would not call the handling bad with them at all.

IMO there's a couple routes you can go with street tires, really tough to justify expensive name brand tires because our cars eat them so fast, and they really aren't much better than the cheap ones coming out of Tiawan/China nowadays. I dare you to try the Atturo AZ850s, they hook and handle great and are ust over $100 a tire. That way you can do burnouts to impress your friends and not feel bad about your tires wearing away.

Good thoughts. My fear is getting caught in the rain. Drag radials are just for the rear correct? The price is nice!

There is a lot more to tires than I think most people realize. Tread wear, compound, weight, temperature sensitivity, ability to shed/disperse water, section width, measured tread width, and the shoulder design. It all stacks up.

Absolutely agree. JC even if I can show better acceleration/traction with the Cup 2's, the PS4S is going to be better in the wet and will no doubt last longer. The few I have used wear great compared with everything else. The big miracle is that in about 3000 miles those PS4s rears on the Redeye have about 8/32 remaining (only consumed 2/32) last year.

Get the biggest wheels you can on the rear (I don't know if you have any aftermarket wheels yet) and try to get the 305's to fit up good and I think you will like them. If not, the 295 size probably can work on a 9.5" wheel. Good thing is now the PS4s comes in lots of sizes. Good luck!

Yes drag radials should only go on the rears, even though the Demon and 1320 come with them on all 4 corners. Drag radials are $375 per tire, the Atturos are summer street tires, and those are the ones that are about $100 per tire, and they are an outstanding tire for the price. Tons of people run them and love them.

This may be the road I’m going down.

If I'm being honest though, I'd probably still take the Conti's. They're absolutely amazing tires and the difference in price is significant enough that you could give up 5% of that extra performance from the Michelins. I only wish they made a Conti in the size I need, I'd be all over them.

I am running Michelin PS4S OEM size on all four corners and they are really good. I will not switch to any other brand for my HC.

i'll 2nd the Continental Extreme Contact DW Sports for summer. I run 305 on the back and 275 in the front. Also have a pair of Mickey Street R's for the strip.
