I saw a cammer in a '64 Galaxie at a gas station getting gas. This was in 1974. He had the hood up. I hung around till he started it up and drove away. Not too loud, but very mechanical-sounding, (if you know what I mean). I don't know who he was or who built that car. I wish I had a cell phone camera then.

I've been a Ford guy most my life, but if you say "Cammer" to someone most people will probably go "Who? What?"

But mention "Hemi" to people, and virtually everyone knows what they are.

In the end, the true winners are we the public. Competition = Faster/Better

Chrysler was allegedly working on a DOHC Hemi. Never saw or heard of a running prototype.

My friend, Tom Tignanelli, has some very exotic/protoype Chrysler stuff from the 60's-70's. Another friend, John Vermeersch... drives around all the time, in his early 60's Starliner with a "cammer"..

He brought it to our Saturday Breakfast-Club meetings on occasion.
