The other problem is, the muscle car generation, now able to spend $ before they die, won't be around for long. It looks to me that there is no one (interested and able to buy) to follow. They were riding a wave, and instead of taking it to the beach, they aborted, betting on the Hornet. 4-5y down the road. I do not see many replacing us hard core fans. Betting on a SC Hemi in 2012 might/was a great idea. Taking the same gamble in 2025 is not a smart bet.
I would tend to agree with your assessment going forward with long range plans past 2025...but even though long in the tooth..I believe they could have gotten 2 more years out of the current platform with some suttle refinements

My question is what was Developed at beta design level in secrecy prior to the ultimate ax dropping, like when it was decided they were going electric route after LA series is done. Is there anything developed or at least in conceptual cad drawing with engineering numbers crunched or would everything be from scratch. Find hard to believe 1000 engineers didn’t have something cooking.

The original hellcat engine was done in complete secrecy and blindsided the automotive world. I find it very difficult to believe That Tim Kuniskis didn’t have at least a Skunk Works program with a small team of Engineers working something as they knew the LA series with Gen 3 Hemi would end. No way would they sit on their hands don’t believe that for a moment. It would have only taken the Stellantis green light funding to go to the next level. There has to be something on prototype parts shelf and Cad computers.
Companies like this always have something in the works. Whether it sees the light of day or not is another story.
RS kept saying a new 7L/426 was coming for Scat Packs as a 50th Anniversary package (and also an alternative engine to the TRX). But it never showed up. Instead he vanished and the new Hurricane I6 rumors popped up.

Someone killed the 426 internally.

I think Dodge could bring that back, especially if they are not going to get hit with carbon taxes. The line for a 426 would be down the street at every Dodge dealer. Even if it was only available in the Hornet
But thats the shit a European wouldn't understand. Make that 426 with 500+hp and they will sell all that they can make.

just checked the locator, looks like either someone placed some orders, or allocations have been reduced. It had been at 8343 available for weeks, now down to 2550. Only one dealer within 50 miles received allocations, 3, and still no takers

Sometime about 1976, Car & Driver did their usual tests and found that the fastest production car available was the Dodge Li'L Red Truck. History may once again be repeating itself.
