Getting ready to lay it up for the year. Having rotator cuff surgery on 11/8 and I’ll be a useless sack of shit for the next several weeks. Oil/filter change done, summer tires/wheels swapped with oem’s, Sta-bil added to topped off tank. Just got to give it a quick vacuuming, leather treatment, and over inflate the tires. Roadrunner already done.

Yeah, but we can get a lot more miles on the odometer when driving on snow.

My driveway is about 14 times longer in the winter according to the 'Cat.

Thanks. With the dark blues also I think.

It will be just a memory for a few months now.

Ha ha, it's not as bad as it sounds.

The oil change before hibernation generally happens in late December, on a day when the roads are nice and dry, but the driveway has hard packed snow on it.

With my tires, when putting it in gear on flat ground, one of two things happen. It goes nowhere as the rears are spinning, or it goes forward with the fronts not turning.

Getting to the road is a bit of a gamble as there's a slight uphill at the gate, so I take about a 500-foot run at it, then hope that there's nobody coming or going on the road. Getting back into the garage is similar, but only requires about 300 feet of building momentum. Then again, unlike the gate, the garage door is not much wider than the car.

Of course, the gate opening is not wide enough for a Challenger that's much sideways, and it's been close a couple of times. Her Challenger has the factory all-terrains, which makes a huge difference.

Okay, so it's not exactly full-on traffic on our road, but people do occasionally drive by.

And it should make you feel better that I got the GT AWD specifically to use on wet or snowy days, saving the 'Cat from the embarrassment of not being able to claw its way to the road, or up to proper speeds.

Reminds me of my wife's CLK430. Very nice car most of the time, but it was a stupid POS in snow.

One early evening I'm expecting my wife to drive in any time, we had maybe 1" or less snow. She knocks on the door, where is your car?!?!? THAT STUPID &#!*$&*^*^*&!@^($^*^@&*^@^ IS 100Y DOWN THE DRIVEWAY!!!!

We have a small hill at this end of the driveway before you get to the house that has a slight incline, maybe 15' over 50y. That stupid MB would not power up the incline! Even with TC off, as soon as that stupid car sensed any slipping it would stop, even at WOT!!!

I had to back up maybe 1/4mi, and drive as fast as I possibly could drifting around the turns lined with 18" pine trees trying to get to an escape velocity that would take me over the last hump! After 3-4 tries, faster and more exciting each time, I made it to the top. WTF! It snows in Germany, don't they know how to make cars drive in snow!?!?! I hated the car and MB for that!!!

Yep, that sounds like my attempts with the 'Cat, except with the "uphill" at the road, and ditches and fence posts instead of trees.

At least I can blame it on the tires - that I put on it.
