All three were PBs and each pass got faster as I brought power in sooner and sooner each pass. I started off real soft as I wasn't sure what the track could hold. I had more to go but I was having an issue I need to sort out so it was time to pack up.
where is the passenger seat??

What in the world is wrong with that scale? its A solid 500 lbs off. is the back of the car on the scale? that car has the stock front wheels on it and both seats in!

where is the passenger seat??
I've been testing with it in and out to see if there's any real difference. So far I've not found any.

I've been testing with it in and out to see if there's any real difference. So far I've not found any.
Man that's interesting. I was going to pull mine to try and get my 8 second slip.

I'm going to try dumps this year and see if they help. The rear seat alone may not net much. But if you do three things for weight reduction it all adds up. I am adding weight to my car with the ice tank. So I am going to try and counter that.
But I am going to for every 100th of a second I can.
BTW you look so serious in that picture. 50 pounds is hard to test though because da can make more of a difference than that

oh yeah I need to get working on my dumps that's right. I have the AWE exhaust so the cat delete pipe is and odd size.

The problem with physics in this particular scenario… the only variable we know is the weight. It’s the position of the weight in regards to the center of gravity that we don’t know, if it adds any torsional rigidity to the unibody, if having it on the right side of the car allows the right rear tire to load up better than without, if it’s not plugged in and setting a code in the computer… Physics are great when the correct algorithm can be applied with all of the right data plugged in.
Otherwise all we have is lighter = faster.
The track data has even more variables to it… which doesn’t help either.

If I had to choose between 50lbs on the front bumper or 70lbs on the rear bumper… I’d say stack those weights behind me and it’ll go faster.

I can tell you the scale is off, by a lot.
Yeah could be, I just made sure it was zero and drove on. That's what it said.

Nice passes! Can't wait to see what it does when you get that 60' on down... I'm obviously slower than you in my stock (but tuned) Super Stock, but my 60's have been as low as 1.39 so far. I think you'll definitely have some low 9's if you can put some more in it at the launch! I'm subscribed to your channel--will we get to see the videos?

In a time where it seems like there's a record for everything I've set my own! :ROFLMAO:

World's first 2016 Go Mango Hellcat Challenger with black stripes driven by a guy named Speedy at Beech Bend Raceway on a random Sunday TNT to run a 9.63 on a baby tune up. In other news I did pick up !6MPH! in the quarter on the new 2.7L blower with SDG billet end plate!

Aaaaaannnnnnd DA was +1200, not even in very good air.

Members of my YT channel will get the full deets tomorrow. I've run across an interesting issue!

6 mph is not chicken feed. Congrats man

A friend just dyno’d his 1000+ hp cat with the exhaust removed as he fitted a gauge to an unused O2 sensor port and had 20 psi of back pressure at WOT. He surprisingly gained nothing on the dyno with the exhaust removed. He runs 5.6 in the 1/8 (local to him track is only 1/8 mile)

Does he have headers or factory manifold? When he removed the exhaust what was left after the headers/manifolds? Jon is pulling the cat-back exhaust off for the weight which is 55lbs. After the stock manifolds or headers there needs to be a length of pipe or torque and hp will be lost. So one way with aftermarket headers would be to leave the intermediate pipes on that would connect to the cat-back. Or if you feel they need to be straight you could put some 2 foot dumps off of the headers. The exhaust would rather have a longer pipe then shorter for making power.

Being the factory exhaust has straight through mufflers I'm really not surprised by the dyno results. There should be a point where a 3" exhaust would make more power then the 2 3/4" factory exhaust but he may not be at that point

Long tube headers, took the exhaust off from the collectors back, pretty much the same as it would be with cut out dumps mounted right off of the collectors.
That would be the way to do it. So the car will be 55 lbs lighter at the track. As far as hp as long as the cat back isn't restrictive then the hp shouldn't change. I don't trust dyno numbers anyway. I have seen 40hp gains on a dyno but none at the track
