They are VERY limited, and all spoken for at this time. Who on that list might pass one along, and exactly when that might be, isn’t known by me. I don’t know if these will ever be “production” in the sense that they end up in dealer inventory/available. It’s a CNC Billet piece and priced accordingly. It’s also taking power to a level that if everything else isn’t built to play (1500whp), what’s the point. Pretty sure that’s why they have always figured these will be limited in number. Having “one coming in” means they are on a list. We had to pay for ours up front (as in paid for in cash) over a month before we got it. That was after we were selected to be allowed to do that based on what we had planned. Making it available for resale wasn’t one of the options that would have placed us in that first group. That was a while ago and what Whipple has decided on now is anybody's guess. We actually might be considered to have some inside info over there and can only guess what’s next. 😂

That car sold for a great price. Sold about for what it was worth stock
1/3 of what was in it 😳. Dropped the trans pan yesterday to change the gasket to the $50 never leak version 🙄. After going fuuuk! Took a pic. Sometimes you can actually see why this stuff costs so much. 88F89CC7-8291-4EAC-A656-52D73D2C3259.jpeg

On the subject of trick stuff…. You can see the back side of the DragPak oil pan in that picture. It’s made by Moroso. We just installed one in my car in preparation for Houston. We were seeing a dramatic drop in oil pressure on launch two weeks ago in Bakersfield. Same thing the blue car experienced last year in Houston. The stock front sump oil pan just isn’t good for a hard leaving Hellcat. What we came up with for mine is a removable crossmember that makes room for the rear sump without welding it forward of the sump like was done with the blue car. I’ve got a couple pics. You can’t see the oil pan because the diaper is already installed. The cross bar in there now is just temporary as we will have a billet CNC version made similar to the AAD stuff that will be more substantial. Who knows…. Maybe they’ll make it for us. This really allows for a simple shop conversion to the rear sump. Your engine will thank you. 3E86BE5F-F454-405E-9DF9-8D0A5CBDB1C5.jpeg 01F8DF01-958E-4260-A6E3-812E5F22FD1A.jpeg

Zdung threw down a 7.9 blower pass with that 3.8 before we could get there. What to do??? We ain’t bringing no knife to a gunfight so…. At noon yesterday the decision was made to burn some midnight oil. And at midnight (we’re leaving today) this happened….. 53418042-1391-48E0-96F9-0C9E399B6B64.jpeg 2BBC8568-81E6-4002-B438-48F930192210.jpeg 1D5A04DD-54C4-4AF5-B757-60FCF950A707.jpeg CD736F6D-9711-4AB9-9910-067F7C31D41B.jpeg 122B70B3-2D50-40FC-AC12-5A60B045BD6B.jpeg

So just for the record…. Got home safely and just about recovered from the 3400 miles of driving. Ended up costing right at $2000 for fuel and other expenses to get there and back. The car ran a disappointing 8.38 at 164.5 mph. It looks like my decision to go with the Holley “Smart Coils” was a mistake. Changed out the first set that had a failure in Bakersfield. They were sent back to Holley for analysis. Things didn’t go much better in Houston. The car ran slower each pass until it was obvious that it was a waste of time. Talked to a couple of the DragPak guys and was told to go back to the stock factory coils. I know the simple question is why not just swap them for a stock set while there. Can’t be done. The EFI wiring has to be changed. It’s a completely different deal. So…. We did make some suspension changes and learned some stuff. The suspension adjustments with wheel weights as recommended was almost a disaster. The car was driving so hard to the left on the top end (fastest pass) I ended up less than a foot from the wall at the finish line. We went backwards on that and it straightened out. The big story of coarse was the blue car. 7.84 backed up with a 7.88. She got into the wall past the finish line after the 7.88 (with a 300 ft wheelie). It’s repairable so it will be back. All said and done…. I think a statement on what SpankinTime Motorsports is capable of was made. That blue car was built from the ground up at this shop. The engine was built from the bare block, the EFI was installed and tuned from scratch and the suspension setup and all of the necessary fabrication was done in house. Not many shops can do that. This shop is going to be moving away from turning wrenches on customer cars and start focusing on engine building and tuning. When the new 401 bullet in my car hits the track there will be some WTF’s and “Where do I get one of those” going around. If you’re thinking about a seriously built motor in the future ( one that’s actually built right… you should see some of the crap from builders that gets torn down here)….. stay tuned 🤨

Curious what are you talking about wheel weights on suspension?

Curious what are you talking about wheel weights on suspension?
The 4-link suspension in the rear is adjustable in a number of dimensions. The antiroll bar can be adjusted to increase/decrease weight side to side on the rear wheels. I was advised to set it up with 10 more lbs on the right rear vs the left. Prior to adjustment.... it was 20 lbs heavier on the left so we moved 30 lbs to the right and got the target numbers. Where before it was driving to the right off the line, this change had it going left down track so hard I almost drove it into the wall before I saw what to was doing. I have that on video but can't post here. They actually sent the crash truck down because they thought I made contact. We backed that adjustment off by about 75% and it was good after. The weights shown in the picture was after the adjustment was made. It shows 8 lbs more on the right with a total of 3833 lbs. That was with low fuel and water and no driver. On the scale at HRP after a pass it was at 4050 lbs

In the classes you are trying to run what are the minimum weights?
