I know he was in talks about a ported blower and different springs. But I don’t think I need the springs😂

You should feel the difference from @vortecd any my car. I drive 3 miles to the track he drives 25 miles. My blower is significantly warmer.

Jon yours have blower spacers? I wasn't much of a believer in them but after putting them on the new setup my blower is barely warm to the touch after a drive.

I have a temp gun and can check the case but IATs are a different ballgame with the bigger blower vs old.

I don’t know that I’d credit the spacers. The 3.0’s are just astounding compared to the IHI. Of coarse our experience has been with the bigger Intercooler DragPak version of the 3.0 (no spacers). After back to back passes on the blue car, where the ice in the box was long gone, you could put your hand on top and it’s barely warm. IAT’s are never even close to being a issue. We don’t run any heat exchanger with our IC system so ice is just part of what we’re doing but I’m starting to think it’s a waste of money 😂

They work @vortecd had them. When driving to the track he was cooler. I never used them

They should probably be on my list.

I sent a couple guys your way today for tuning. 1 guy is here on the forum. We'll see if they do anything.

Spacers keep the blower a lot cooler. Doesn't heat soak nearly as fast

Yeah that is what I’m struggling with is the what’s next.
THIS!!! Exactly this. hoping to join you in the high 8's club come November 12th. then the question becomes, built engine? trans? cage? I know I'm going to put a parachute on for safety. also an engine diaper. I really don't want to cage it. So does that mean leave it alone and just enjoy the high 8's? or continue into what I really think I want is 8.5's on boost only and reliable. This decision will haunt me for quite some time I think.

I believe it can be with the right built bottom end and the 3.0 Whipple, along with a built trans and the right driveline parts.
I mean if Jon and I know a few others who have gone into the high 8's on the stock bottom end, trans and rears. I think with right built bottom end and supporting mods 8.5's will be capable and reliably done.

Ya. I don’t know. I think I could port the blower and turn the tune down a little and it would be a safer setup. But what’s next geesh. I have an ice box to install but I have been thinking a chiller would be easier to use. Ice seems to be a pain. So maybe I do a chiller and a port over winter. Both making the car more reliable at the same power level. But I have to say I made a 9.3 pass in a charger this week and it cut a 1.4 60. Let me tell you I’m not giving up the 1.2 60s they just feel so much better.
I guess you and I need to keep each other posted one what we decide is the best thing to do. A chute no problem. A cage yuck.
I keep thinking to spray a 150 shot to it. But at the same time then I’m dealing with bottles. I thought about adding the hellion compound kit. But we’ll then I need to think more about a cage and built engine. So who knows. With parts shortages if I want a built engine I need to order parts now b
