I've been missing my Brass Monkey Wheels on my previous HC and decided to try out the Dupli-Color Method on my current wheels. I decided on Bronze as the color and it was a relatively easy process but labor intensive in the East Texas Heat! I used 2 x cans of Dupli-Color Prep Spray, Bronze Spray (3 x Coats), and Gloss Clear Coat (2 x Coats).

Overall, glad I did this as it was less than $200 to try out; rather than buy a set of wheels. Will be interested to see how the wear and tear process goes. Black Wheels on HC.jpg Black Wheel (Before).jpg Bronze Wheels (After Dupli-Color).jpg Bronze Wheels on HC.jpg

Looks good. I may try that on my bravados to match my bronze fronts for track:unsure:

Well, it’s been a few weeks here in the Houston climate and they’re still holding strong.

Is that finger print on rim, lower right rear?

Seriously. I looked at the full image and it looks like there is a smudge where a finger moved some of grunge out of the way to check the duplo status. For what it was, I think it looks great

Haha! It may be a finger smudge. It seems no matter what…there is always a smudge in this car to buff out. i.e. that dang black satin hood with random chip marks!

I’m assuming this is a paint and not plasti dip?

The only reason I didn’t go this route (trying it myself) was because I wanted the shop to paint match the OEM Brass Monkey color, plus I had them fixing the bits of curb rash so I figured I’d just let them do everything.

Well, after spending $1k to get all 4 refinished, they didn’t even try to match the OEM color (you can see how off it looks compared to the OEM center caps). And they didn’t even want to try to tape off the SRT and paint the center caps to match.

Had I known that, I would just done it myself. OP your wheels look great, hope it holds up well!

Sorry about that shop's attitude. Did you pay them?

No plasti dip on this car. Tried that out on a AWD Charger front grill in Alaska in 2012. Lesson learned and not going back to the plasti dip
