315/50/17 how to get to fit

This should help someone on what to do to get a 315 to fit. Wheels are going to change this some but mine are +30 offset which is on the high side. The factory wheels are +18. I was able to borrow Jons wheels and tires which are the same wheels as mine, Forgestar F14 17x10s. My tires will not get installed until Monday so thank you @jonx96 . I only cut the front piece of the liner. You can see where it changes to cut it. The only time the front of the tire is furthest to the front is when it is jacked up off the ground. When sitting on the ground there is a lot of clearance up there. I pounded in the long rib and where it stuck out by the large hole but not sure if that even needed to be done. The inner fender is straight then makes a turn down and it is in that are that needs the most work. I used a 4 lb hammer and it worked real well. Use gloves, I didn't and have a slight blister on my hand from it. I worked on it, put the wheel on the went under to check my progress.

Once everything looked good I went for a drive, nothing sounded like it was rubbing. I took the wheels back off and didn't see anything. I wiped it off and used some card board and sprayed the area black since normally the wheel liner would be covering it. There was a large hole in the front and I wasn't sure if there was a drain if water got in there so I taped it up. You may be able to get away with cutting a smaller piece of the liner out also. I would think Chargers and Challenger are similar. On ease of doing it I would give it a 3, very easy

I will be taking off the 305s and putting on new 315s so I will not have both. I'm doing this cause of traction issues last time out after changing the pulley. A have a 9.86 with the 305's in 2000 da so I will have something to compare to

Taller tire and an extra 5 lbs. It'll be interesting to see the results.

Looks like a clean install. Smart to cover the hole. Curious on results.

I think a Charger has a bit more room vs Challenger.

Grab the BFH and don't miss. It hurt me to beat my car like that. Soon i get to see what it takes to clear the 315/60/15

Did the hammer dance. still didn't fit. spacer and longer studs did the trick, easy day at that point.
