Just landed, brain seriously not working right,

My legs are shaking and my hip is jacked up, I ended up not really sleeping last night, so I got up and left. Damn hotels.

Did some illicit fuel consumption in the western part of my trip.

Then the Kansas State highway patrol shut down the highway to block me in...


..or so I thought for about 2minutes, turns out they were looking for a trucker, or somebody else anyway. Scared me pretty good. I thought I was going to jail and losing the car to impound.

I will calc the entire trip tomorrow maybe, per tank by actual miles/gallons was 19-21mpg

How was the drive overall? If it wasn’t Challengerfest would you jump in the car and drive it that far again?

I haven’t taken my 6 speed on a long trip yet. My other car gets 30+ mpg overall at around 85mph round trip to Vegas (almost 900 miles total) and I can go almost 600 miles to a tank, so I don’t have to stop for gas on the way there or on the way back.

Really want to take the Cat down but not sure I want to pay $300 vs $150 to get to work that week haha.

That long in ANY vehicle anymore is too long. If I was 22 and road tripping with friends, maybe.

I had debated breaking it up into two days each way, but didn't want the extra time in a schedule that was already fighting me to not going.

Choice given, I'd limit it to 6-8hrs max in the Challenger.

I've done local trips a few times at 4-6hrs and loved the drive.

The seat started to be constraining after a full day. Normally I love our seats. But not that length of time, frankly I was thankful for the small tank because I was able to get out and partially uncramp my hip.

The Dead-pedal is a Godsend! But putting on the cruise-control (first time ever) and pulling my right leg back put my hip in a bad way.

Bull may have the record for "Furthest Driven" to any ChallengerFest. Pre pandemic we had people come from Wyoming, Canada, even California but they all trailered their vehicles as far as I can remember. Highest driven I can remember was 920(ish) and he came every year before the pandemic.

I won farthest trailered last year but farthest driven still came from farther away.

Good run for the Cat. I dare say no carbon build up cylinder heads, they need to Stretch the legs once in a while.
