I understand MSRP going up but once the buyer has signed an agreement it still seems unfair to raise the price after that. I mean they offer one MSRP, a buyer agrees to it, it should stick. Call me crazy.

I put in an order for a JB last Wednesday, 1/18. Let’s see what happens. If anything else gets jacked up, I’m either going to a new dealer or ordering a RE. That would suck since the colors I want aren’t available on the RE anymore, but I’m not paying over 100k for a car.

It's not just you....I ordered a Durango SRT in November...just printed out the window sticker (it's built, waiting shipping), MSRP is $2k more than my order sheet.

TRX has had 4 or 5 price increases from its initial launch of 69.9k

I think its now 77k which my Level 1 stickered at.

OK....you're crazy! :geek:

The "agreement" only locks you in on a price so the dealer can't turn around and try to re-negotiate a whole new price with you on the car when it arrives. But that agreed price isn't "lock in" if Dodge raises the MSRP though. Dealers aren't gonna eat that cost difference. I believe it's in the fine print in the agreement you sign. If there's nothing in the agreement (fine print) stating the price may change if the manufacturer raises it ....then the OP may have a valid argument to hold the dealer to the agreed price.

That being said....I still wouldn't be happy if the price got jacked up 2K either....

Base pricing on the orignal 2015 Hellcat was $59,995. Crazy how some guys are nearly double that now for a Hellcat. Different sure, but still crazy to think about.

The FREE money and or should I say the FAKE MONEY handed out over the Pandemic has created all this ridiculousness in the car market and other markets as well. Its insane to witness so many paying the ADM which just sends a message to manufacturer they can charge more. Just look at the release of the Hellcat back in 2014 and how the ADM was crazy and people paid it. And yep next model year price increases and so forth and so on.

Usually a car on order is “price protected” to the msrp at the time of order.
That happened with my RE and it has happened with many cars when I was a fleet buyer.

The dealer knows that. He probably wants to charge you the higher price while paying fca the original price.

Do bitch to the dealer about “price protection” on your order.
