Hi guys.
I have a 2016 with the wider brass monkey replicas (20x10.5 and 25mm offset) and nitto 555r 305 package that was being offered by some of the vendors back in the day when the wide replicas first appeared, probably around 2017/2018.
When I bought them, the tires came mounted and balanced and ready to go. So when I received them I installed them and went on my way. This set up completely transformed the car in a good way. The traction was incredible !!
I don’t remember there being any sort of vibrations when I ran them after first purchasing them.
Last year I started to notice vibrations coming from the rear at highway speeds. I inspected the tires and noticed that they were starting to crack/dry rot. Tires were 4-5 years old, my car only sees 2-3K miles a year of use and it is not garage kept. I put a cover on it in the winters and leave it in my driveway. I knew it was time for new tires.
I just had new tires put on yesterday, 305 nitto 555r again.
After installing the wheels yesterday and going for a short drive today I noticed a VERY slight vibration at highway speeds (80 MPH +). Around town it’s not noticeable at all. Now, I'm thinking about selling these replicas and upgrading to OEM 11 inch wide wheels to keep that brass monkey finish. I still want the ability to run a 305 Nitto 555r in the rear........the traction is way too good to give up.
Does anyone know if I can squeeze an OEM widebody wheel from Dodge in the back of my regular body Hellcat with a 305 nittto without rubbing ?
I’m assuming they are going to poke out, if so, any issues with hitting the quarter panels ?
