Launch RPM's at the strip

Used the search but didn’t find this discussed. What RPM have you found to work best at the strip in an A8? Im talking about just loading the trans a little bit before you go green. I seem to have the best 60ft when its barely loaded under 1000 rpm, which is really just a touch over idle.

I have gotten a 1.48 60ft by launching between 1200-1500rpm.

I would say it depend alot of the track prep. and only you can feel it at that time. I launch it around same as Markp said but with MT R's315 50 17, 23 pounds

my best 60 so far 1.49 an that was barely above idle 305 45 18 mickeys 22 psi

I only give enough throttle to know there is some gas.
I find very little rpms works good for me.

I have 18 MtsRs and like 17 psi in the heat

my best is 1.55 and that was on 10.5 315/35/20 nto5r and the best I've done since I put the 17 inch mickey Thompsons on race stars is 1.585 but the Mickey Thompsons
are consistent 1.59/1.60 I launch any where from 1500 to 1800,, 18 to 20 psi but I'm suspect of the tune so now curt is tuning it and I'm hoping that improves

1.47 60ft at 1500rpm

If the track is prepped enough I can launch at 1500rpm.

what tires an what is your best 60?

MT R's 305/45/18 PSI 18 to 20 - my best 60 so far is 1.619 but over all average is about 1.73

I've cut 1.46-1.48 60s leaving at about 1200 on MT ET Street R 305/35R17.

I usually leave about 1000-1200. 1.51-1.55 60'. Some of that is weather dependent.

When you guys say idle, you’re not even pre-loading the drivetrain?

When my Hellcat was Stock I would just Smash and go. Like killing a spider

I could do that for quite sometime too during the R&D and T&T process until I hit the 9's.

I don't have all the added suspension but I did have the HHP version of Demon Springs installed. So far I like them and the transfer of weight feels good on the launch. I just don't get to the track like I did with my Husband John/Top Cat to have a lot of runs in to make comparisons on different techniques.

So I have been doing the same thing with just enough throttle to know the fuel is coming through.

Linda... did the hhp demon springs change the ride height in the rear??
