Do you apply tire shine after each wash?

Aside from that I know it's not good for the tires, I can't imagine that the over spray does the brakes any favors.
So my answer is no. Absolutely not, to be precise.

Just depends, if it's sunny out and I'm going somewhere nice, I'll shine it up. No special occasion, no shine necessary.

Plus, the overspray or flinging of that chemical is a pain in the ass.

On rare occasion I'll apply a low-gloss, but I do it with an old microfiber towel and make sure there isn't any excess to fling.

I tried some water-based stuff, I really liked it at first, but then it left a milky coating on the tire that is impossible to get off, so it's right out...

I use Tuf Shine permanent on the Challenger and it lasts all season. Dry to the touch, not oily. I use Mop 'n Glo on all the other vehicles and it lasts all season. The two may be essentially the same product.

Nothing worse that old and dry looking tires, I don't recommend making them looking black and wet either, but black with a low sheen is the way to go. Makes the wheels pop more when the tire is black.

The dealer slathered the crap out of my tires with the shine stuff before I bought my car. So much that by the time I got the car home, it was flung down both sides of the car and even on the side windows! I don't mind putting a little tire shine on every once in a great while, but that was ridiculous....

Oh, yes, there is. Just look at the poor tire in the photo in post number one.

If tires were supposed to look like a woman with way too much make up, the manufacturers would've injected slime into the rubber compound during the production process.
Instead, they use various chemicals that help the tire live and last longer, which tire goop effectively negates by blocking those beneficial things in.

I use a low sheen with a hand applicator and don't put extra layer on. This prevents overspray and sling.

I always tell dealers NO TIRE SHINE prior to prep & delivery. Some still put it on & I make them clean it off & clean the wheels as well before I will sign & take the car.
When I was driving Infiniti's they automatically wash the car after service and I always made them put that right on top of the WO. Interesting thing is, eventually they had a sticker for it as many ppl didn't want it done, then they switched and would only put it on if requested.

Same here. Fixed that by replacing the tires and wheels.

But I just realized that I can't answer the OP's question yet. I won't know until I have washed the car twice.

Well, getting rid of the tire goop was really a welcome side benefit of swapping out the 5-spokes and "all terrains" to wheels I think go better with the car, and tires that work better.
