Great simple mod to stop that pesky non stop brake dust from the factory Brembo pads. Stopping feels great, break in was simple and now good to go. Cleaned up my wheels with a microfiber towel, gave them a coat of Nexgen ceramic spray and that was it. 3D4CE213-5FC8-41A0-AE91-1EFCEB86EBA3.jpeg 3D4CE213-5FC8-41A0-AE91-1EFCEB86EBA3.jpeg F1FB47A0-84B0-435F-84B7-F7CFB92D22F5.jpeg

This is on my to do list. I only 1/4 mile race my Redeye from time to time but the damn brembos pads dust terrible after only 100 miles or so. I heard you don't lose much if any stopping power from these. I don't road race, so if they fade a bit faster, that's okay by me. What's the break in procedure entail? I'm also considering hawk ceramic pads too, I've heard good things about those as well.

I just did the Z23's on my car and love them, as the dust is gone!!! Break in is easy. 5 aggressive stops from 40-10 without letting them cool, then 5 moderate stops from 35-5 again without letting them cool, then just drive it as long as you can without touching the brakes for the cool down period. Got a few weird looks in my neighborhood as I would rapidly accelerate, then cram on the brakes many times in a row. Oh well, don't care what they think. Now my brass monkeys, will stay brass colored!!! Oh and FYI the first few stops it will feel like they are not really there, but they bite in quick after that.

And if you do it with very low miles on your car, you can easily sell the Brembos to the track guys.

I've actually swapped pads for 2 friends. I buy the Z23s...they bring the car over, I put it on the lift and swap the pads for them (and paint the read hub hats black - it looks so much better afterwards). Then they let me keep the Brembo pads.

Good deal all around. They get the pad swap for free and no effort, and I get a set of Brembos for the track for $120 and a couple hours of my time.

Over three years with mine now. Game changer. A little advice - not great for track use. Heavy, heated track use does induce fade. Ive never experienced fade with mine and have used them on two different Challengers now. But I also don’t track my cars. Hands down the best thing ive done to my Hellcat.

And supposedly they don't eat the rotors as bad as the Brembos did either....

Yup. Z23s for everyday use..but swap to Brembos before each track day (also high temp brake fluid changed every year). Never skimp on brakes.

Tried the Z26's (front) and kept squealing on the passenger side. Definitely not that good when having to do a panic stop from high speeds compared to the OE Brembos. Drove me nuts so have a pair of StopTechs on order to try for street use. Agree on track use. Put the Brembo pads on for a track day last weekend and were flawless all day with little to no fade and Motul 5.1 fluid. I'm beginning to be OK with cleaning brake dust just because the OE pads are so good for all around use...performance and feel wise. I run with Hawks on the rear and work good for multi-purpose.

I just got my Z26's yesterday. I plan to install them this week when I get time. Never dealt with this type of caliper before, but it seems easier than the older ones I've changed pads on. I have just a tad over 500 miles on my car with the original Brembo pads on, so I'm hoping these new pads will bed OK so I won't have squealing issues or anything.

It'll take you longer to jack up the car and remove the wheels than it will to actually change to pads.
Pop out the 2 pins (and 1 bolt on the fronts), slide the old pads out the back, and the new pads in (like slices of toast from the toaster). Put pins and bolt back in...done.

Once you remove the old pads its a great time to get that tooth brush out and detail the calipers and wheel wells. The brakes took 5 minutes each, but the detail job took an hour on each corner. Then there was the deep cleaning of the wheels and tires while they were removed. OCD sucks, but in the end she is showroom clean again.

Thanks....that's exactly the way I understand it too! Jacking these cars up is a freakin chore though...especially when you don't have the fancy pinch weld puck for the jack. I just carefully raise it one wheel at a time under the control arms after cussing trying to position the jack....

I suffer from OCD too...well maybe not quite as bad. It is a good time to clean up the calipers real well and the back side of the wheels though. But.... the wheel wells?!?...ehhhhh

The Hawks are a ceramic pad too correct? Hawks don't have a front pad for our cars?

Don't forget to paint your rear hub hats black as well. Helps it blend into the wheel. Only a couple of extra hours...;)

They do but squealed like a banshee in front but perform great. Worked good on the rears so kept them and just experiment on the fronts only.
