Have any of you guys run a 305/35-20 ET Street SS on a 12" wide wheel?
I have the Michelin 345/30 on the car now. When I measure the two tires they are surprisingly similar in size. MT is the same width and maybe a 1/4" taller.
Anyway.. I see no reason why they won't work fine and look fine, just curious if anyone here has had any personal experience using this tire w the wider wheel.

I'm running the same size R series on a 10.5 wheel for racing, but I think you'd be fine with a 12" on the street.

Thanks guys. I'd seen the info on the MT site regarding allowable rim width.
I'm about to have the rims powder coated and while they're off I'm going to replace the 345 Michelins w something that hooks a bit better.
I'll give them a shot.

Also, what are you running at 345 and not hooking? You wide or normal bodied?

I have a 305/35 on an 11”. The tire seems too narrow at just over 12” itself. I have a 325/30 on a 12” wide wheel and again the tire seems too narrow. The edges of both those wheels are exposed, so if you do that be careful with the new powder coat, because those wheel edges are not protected when you set them down on the floor.

My experience with my PS4S Michelin 345/30’s on 12” wide in the rear of a REWB; priceless. Same two tires will appear for their third season with over 9000 road miles next year. It won’t hook any better on streets. If those MT’s get better than 3.3 sec to 60 on a street, let me know.

Allowable rim width is for safety, generally to prevent excessive sidewall flex and oscillation. 305 should be easily allowed for 12 inch wheels if I remember correctly. This is my third set of the SS on this wheel after 2 sets of 555Rs. Never had any problems. Though I do religiously observe the 149 mph speed rating on them

D is correct, which the wheel rims with that combo, and the best I've got 0 to 60 on the street is 3.6 on high heat resistant composition west texas asphalt at 2580. On that surface in my opinion no street tire can deal w the cars torque efficiently
