My driver's side mirror has a scratch. I have used 2 products,, no good. Any suggestions out younder?? Foot ball beer time and tired of looking at this scratch. It is on the glass.

My suggestion is to not look at it.
If you drive your 'Cat properly there's nothing behind you to see in the mirrors anyway.

Just want to make sure a C8 is snot sneaking up on me. Not worried about the new Rousch Stang next door. Don't want to have to purchase a new glass, if you could. Have the slats on the back wind shield, so the side mirrors are the way and the light.

Just stick a picture of the C8 font headlamps over the mirror. Maybe @1971demon man could help you out since his wife has one....oops that’s right his picture would be nothing there being the C8 is in front of him.

Serious question.....

If you run your fingernail back and forth across it, does your fingernail catch in the scratch?
If yes, it might be too deep to remove by hand.

If no, then you can try various polishing compounds. Jewelers rouge should work. The red stuff is coarser than the white. These are basically the same items you use to polish aluminum. You can get these in a kit at Harbor Freight or maybe Lowes or Home Depot. There should be some videos on YouTube.

double sided duct tape a new one over it....lol or have a shop replace the mirror plate. I am unaware of any product that can effectively remove or patch deep scratches.

Most people when it comes to any abrasive compound...if they aren't proficient with it...will end up with a cloudy area around the repair...and still remnants of the scratch..your right..if you can feel in with your nail...leave it...

You're right, it's easy to make it worse if you use something too coarse. That's the good thing about using those rouge sticks, the abrasives aren't that course compared to other polishing media. I always try the white first, and if need, step down to the red and go back up from there, depending on the material.

He might be fortunate enough to knock the dull part out of the bottom of the scratch and reduce the appearance that way, similar to clearcoat.

I look forward to hearing how he makes out.

Going to see fiancee #6 tomorrow to watch the Bucs game. With all the jewls I have given her from 1992. 2nd time around. Brat teenage daughters are gone. She has all sorts of cleaners. Called Harbor Freight and no go there. All fails,, Amazon Prime here I come.
