When i was on 17s i ran the 315/50/17 or the 315/55/17 MT et street r. Both work well. The 315/55/17 is a tight fit.

Now i run the 315/60/15 mt et street radial pro for the drag radial at track and 305/45/20 mt street ss for street

I think I have also decided that the 315/50/17 is the way to go also

If you're a regular body the wheelwells will require some massaging.

I have some 315/50r17 Street rs. 2 have limited runs and 1 is brand new.

No theres little ribs in the actual metal inner fender that need "massaging" with a hammer

ok I think I know the ones your talking about I had trouble with the same ones on my scat pack. I have hammer to take care of that.....I just hope the 315x50 help with good prep my 305x45 hook pretty darn good. If any of you guys hear of anyone looking to get rid of some race star recluse wheel for the rear (Chrome) I'd be much appreciated

Oh they certainly hook up nicely. Alot of members run that setup because they dont want to do the 15in conversion.

Now that i use stricly 15in beadlocks for strip and my 20s for the street i have no use for my 17s. Sadly theyre not chrome

The 17's work "Ok" I guess but the 15 inch conversion is a NIGHT and DAY difference period. Even if ur not making big power the bottom line is the MT "Street R" are decent tires at best. I would spin them pretty easily with 900 whp.

The 15 inch conversion allows u to now run the MT "Pro Radial" and it hooks like velcro on the street and track and its light years ahead of the "Street R". Its the best tire ive ever owned by far!

I have them on my Turbo Mustang and they still hook at 1100 whp on 93 octane! Best tire ever.

I really dont get why more people dont make the conversion. Its just not that much money to do so and the benifits are HUGE! I mean if one rolls around with 17's and MT Street R's the car isnt gonna handle any better or worse with a 15 inch and a 275/60 or 315/60 so I really dont get the point of the 17 at all when one can buy a tire that will essentailly hook like velcro on the street.

Yep, the Pro radial sucks in the rain...... but so does the Street R. NEITHER have rain groves so again I dont see the point of the 17 inch at all to be honest.

I guarentee if ppl switched to the Pro Radial and seen how well it hooks up they would never look back. U dont have to run them all the time just swap em out for 20's whenever u want ur not married to them.
