Our gal is pretty much a garage queen ("safe queen" for those of the firearms persuasion LOL). She's a 2023 and I'm thinking we're at about 5Kish miles, maybe? Anyhoo, I'm not a super wealthy dude, but still blessed with more than I deserve, and I feel so, so blessed to have her in the garage as the auto baby I/we dote on. After having been blessed to previously own two Scats, I'm about decided she's my real life dream machine, and checks more boxes on the auto wish list than I ever thought possible in yesteryear. She's seen some rain, but never any snow. Yesterday was an absolutely beautiful day here in Virginia so my wife and I (and our favorite pup) did a little pleasure road trip.
Our other ride in the family is a typical small displacement turbo, and man, I kinda forget the whole dynamic full body experience of piloting these beautiful beasts. It actually takes me about a half hour or so of driving until I finally get comfortable again with all the thrust, where she begins to feel like a kinesthetic extension of the ole body. But once that happens, it sure is amazing every time, and never gets old, and all the thrust, roar, and ability to pretty much immediately stop with no drama become familiar again, but still always magical.
Here are a couple pics from our beautiful little adventure yesterday - I know, very boring, but to me it's kinda like the ole Rifleman's Creed, this is my DD, there are many like it (well, maybe not too many), but this one is mine LOL. I'm not one to show my a$$ in traffic, and as an older dude actually strive to be the gray man these days, but we had some opportunities yesterday to launch at WOT when no one was around, and man o man it just never gets old. Also what struck me was the magic that Dodge worked in their wisdom of putting 6 piston big boys in the front. We had a couple instances of braking with authority, and holy cow do these big gals ever stop every bit as well and smoothly as they get up and go. Again, I'm older, so I never lead or show off, but when we get the chance to SAFELY punch her between herds on the interstate, to stealthily make time and advancement, it's just glorious to hear those eight big cylinders and beautiful exhaust sing the song of our people.
Also what's really neat in my mind and I'm very grateful for is, since we got her, my wife, God bless her, has now become every bit as much a fan and enthusiast and protective as I am. When we're debating a day trip destination or other trip to eat or shop or whatever, she'll scope out pics and sometimes say "nope - parking sucks, taking the other car"
Also, I'm not a "modder" type dude, so everything on her is bone stock. Not hating or saying I have anything bad to say about folks that mod - life is short, a blessing and a gift, so do what makes ya happy - but she's as bone stock as the day we bought her. For me, personally, I could not ask for any more power, and IMHO the stock exhaust is beautifully perfect as being civilized at stop lights, while also screaming a muscle symphony at WOT.
I'm almost always in the "custom" ride mode, and discovered yesterday I'm really digging having the steering set in track mode for a change.
TL/DR: an old dude with a "nothing special" 392DD took his ride out of the garage for a rare outing and nothing happened but automotive bliss.
