Tuner list, locations, & capabilities

I can probably name on one hand the tuners I'd trust with my car. Add that to the fact the Hellcat platform has become extremely popular and you can imagine their inboxes stay full. I talk to Mike from OST pretty often and he's 3 weeks behind on email tunes today. Business is good. I'm sure it's the same for Tim.

I've always wanted to create a map with name/locations/recommendations for the members. Some guy that works in the industry and knows how to do that with Google Maps might be a good candidate for that, unfortunatly, that's not me. Know anybody that could do that?

That used to be easy on Google maps, but they don't offer it any longer. Probably a third party way to do it, but more work and upkeep I think than most would sign up for (permissions and such).

Maybe we could just do it manually in a thread...

What about if you did it as a trip in googlemaps. put each of the addresses into google maps and then just add to the route. I don't know what the limit of intermediate destinations is for google maps but you should be easily able to do it for sectors of the country (ie west, middle, east). Plan the trip at one and end at another with stops in between, like waypoints flying.

Ok...so I signed into googlemaps today to see if there was an easier way to do what you want to do. When you first sign in, there are 3 little black lines next to the search bar where you would add an address to search for. If you click on those 3 little black lines you get a drop down of selections, one of which is "Your Places". When you click on that, there are several options of how to set these, "Saved", "Visited", and "Maps". It looks like you could use that to build what you wanted to build. I only did limited looking for now, but will take a deeper look after work.

Maybe this would work.

I then added the 3 addresses for Hemifever tuning, A2Speed tuning, and MMX. Googlemaps then plotted all three on the map as shown here (I picked places that were close to each other for easy viewing) and they are marked by the little green teardrop shaped markers on the map.

I think this is what you were looking to do....if not...I'll go to my room and stand in the corner with no dinner until tomorrow (full disclosure....I already ate dinner today)

Right. This is at least close, or a start.

We might do this, and the idea would be that if they make the "tour", that it's some level of endorsement, but without warranty of performance.

Sure....I just picked three out of the hat so to speak that were close for display purposes. I didn't see any type of limit to the number of places that you could save to the list, but I wasn't stretching the limit, just testing the concept. So based on the size area you wanted to plot, all the way to nationwide, you should be able to construct something decent with this.

I have a TomTom account but haven't messed with any of thier online stuff yet other than updates for my portable gps. I can fiddle around with that in the next couple days and see if there's anything there worth while.

We used Google Earth to do most of our mission planning overseas and you could mark all the locations you wanted on that thing. I haven't used it in a few years but I just did a cursory check and it's still available and working.

In the googlemaps way when you are making a list of places in the "want to go" section, you can also set it to be private or you can share it in two different ways. That needs to be looked into as well to see if others could edit as they go or if it's a simple sharing.
