Long Time no post. Sucky update. Let the wife have the keys night before thanksgiving. She went to drop her niece off. She was headed back home alone, and goosed it, ass kicked out, she over corrected and spun it and it went ass backward into some banana trees.

she’s fine. No damage on her. The challenger didn’t fair as well.

could have been a shit ton worse though.

rear took the hit and lucky the banana trees are soft and it absorbed the hit. She messed up at lease one wheel when she jumped the curb. Lucky it was at low speed.

my dad and I got over and pulled it out and we towed it to my house.

lucky no police report or bullshit. The cops were cool as hell.

I’ll post up some pics, but the main reason posting is I can’t get the car fired up.

it threw a belt when started to try and drive it a out of the grass. so I’m guessing she had a heck of a jolt to the powertrain if it shifted the engine around.

I checked for busted sensors, looked for anything out of the ordinary but it seems alright.

the car will run without the supercharger belt, so I just have the accessory belt on.

I plugged my scanner in the car and no codes are reading at all. It’s all clean.

when I try and fire it up, I get check engine light etc. here’s a video of what’s up. Anyone got any ideas or things I can try.

im gonna start messing with this tomorrow.

I haven’t wanted to look at the friggin car since she messed it up. Those of you that know me, know how well I take care of my cars. This thing has been mint. And a rocket ship.

Is there a fuel cutoff in case these things take an impact?

To add context. No airbags deployed. Id say the major impact was just jumping the curb.

If the ABS got jacked up the car will not start, but usually it won’t even crank. Can you hook up hp tuners and see if you’re getting fuel, fuel pressure, spark, etc? Anything leaking from the back? Suspension jacked up? Anything under the car get ripped up? Did the tow truck damage it?

My first thought is some sort of G- switch that kills the fuel pump in the event of a crash. I know my friends old Explorer had one that we had to reset after he jumped it like 4' in the air. Seems like it was in the very rear on that vehicle. No idea if a Hellcat has one or where its located though.

Can you hear the fuel pump even prime up?

Sorry to hear of the wreck, that is horrible!

Turns out VW was already wise to this happening back in 1964. ;)

Morning all.

Thanks for the sympathies.

I’m going to check fuel pressure and spark this morning. Should have that covered.

my current guess is abs damaged. but I need a thorough look.

That sucks Whip, but you know it could have been a lot worse. Hopefully your wife isn’t shaken up too bad, I think it’s sweet that she is willing to give it some gas and have some fun, the back of the car is a small price to pay to have a cool chick.

I don’t know that HCs have that fuel cut off like Fords, never found one myself, so if it doesn’t have fuel pressure it’s probably lack of demand from the ECU because of the codes.

Do you have Alfa obd @WhipCat ? Scan the BCM and all of the modules for codes. You only get CELs for PCM related codes. You can also clear them out

My fuel level sensor went bad and it only triggerd a code in the BCM, Alfa told me exactly which side went bad. Very useful tool when dealing with electrical issues. Try this :

1. With your foot off the brake, push the start button twice (RUN position).
2. Wait 5 seconds
3. Put your foot on the brake and push the start button

I’m sure you have twin pumps. Check the fuel pump relay/inline fuse. Check fuel pressure with hp tuners on run and during cranking. If you hear the pumps prime but fuel pressure is really low and you can watch it drop, line might have popped off the pumps inside the tank on driver side - the clips go bad after a while, just went through that

Got it fired up.

easy enough.

the jolt on the car knocked the power plug to the fore fuel bus bar.

it’s now zip tied up.

now she needs a super charger belt

full inspection is showing no damage to the suspension.

one slightly bent exhaust pipe with the passenger tip pushed in. Easy fix

my coolant tank got pushed up and has a bead or a slight puncture somewhere. Have a tiny leak. But that needs to be fixed.

the rest is going to my body guy for minor body repair and paint.

needs at least one new wheel maybe two.

alignment. And fingers crossed she’s as good as new

I’m gonna assume there’s more to it than what I posted as stuff is pulled off. But it seems solid. Car sounds good running.
