Test-drove a new Audi RS5. It's much better than I thought it would be. It's on my short list.

They start at $79,900. They should be great at that price, right?

Yeah dang, I mean that's just the cost of doing business now. Considering what just a 5.0 Mustang costs, $10k+ more for an Audi R model ain't bad! I saw this RS6 wagon a couple days ago and I have to admit it looked pretty sweet!

I just ran my ‘16’s $67,900 sticker through the inflation calculator. Equates to $89,300 today.

I never thought I'd say this, but I think I'd get a Plaid before the Audi.

Apparently it didn't quite like hauling a number of bags of horse food, so it got replaced with an RSQ8.

No, I had a lowly Q5 between two GT AWDs, but she's had a Q3, a couple of Q5s, the RS6Avant, and one each Q8, SQ8, and RSQ8. All in fairly rapid succession.

And you'll never guess what her favorite color is. DSCN4447.JPG

Let's hear it - other vehicles you have owned or do own, that you know you should hate, according to the "auto press", but actually ended up enjoy driving?
My 5th gen 2020 4Runner Venture Edition, special trim based on the TRD Off Road Premium. It wasn't fast, but I felt like I felt safe in it. I think it ranks # 32 out of 33 in the midsize SUVs on Car and Driver :p

In "76"...cool DD's were far and few in between...bought my first and only Pontiac...76 TransAm 455...back then you could custom order everything (no group packages)..silver...bird delete..(extra 35.00)..honeycomb wheels..air..manual trans.black standard seats (didn't like the puffy optional seats) the standard seats were like the early 70's Z28 seats...and roll up windows..(was not a fan of power windows back then....it was a slug...but was a really fun DD back then
I knew we must have had something in common.

Had a ‘75 T/A with that horrible 400 CI with little or no power and the gears were like 2.50. We had it up over 150 but it would take forever.

Then I ordered a ‘78 with the real Pontiac 400, 4sp, WS6, T-tops, gold NO BIRD on the hood. That was a good one. But I made it better.:p
Little known fact if you simply bolted a set of pre-emission 400 heads (junk yard - $30 off a six pack 400 CI). In one to two days, we ripped it down to its pistons, bolted on the heads, headers, medium rise intake, a 750 double pumper, adjusted the valves and wow! I think she was then 350-400 hp. After that had to mod the clutch, & rebuild the tranny once. It was sweet. Wish I did not need to sell it to return to college. After that I had a ‘75 MGB! Drive it for four years I think and sold it for a few more bucks than the $3k I gave for it. I really liked that old girl also. Got real close to that one, rebuilt the engine once, added a set of double carbs that were a pain sometimes and worked on a bunch of stuff all the time.
