I get what you're saying, but there's also this run-away train that we're on that is going to crash (and that doesn't make sense). When it crashes and we realize we need to pick up the pieces, it will be relatively easy to "fix" the problem by going back to existing infrastructure.

I'm saying that part of the fix could be a reversing of CAFE standards and that would open the door for who knows what...

We will have V8's for a while but in what form? Ram 1500 5.7's are all e Torque now (no thanks), and Chev and Ford need to adhere to the increasingly ridiculous mileage and emission requirements. So I worry it is getting like 1973 again.

Edit: No more V8's in the Toyota Tundra.

The Ram Classic has the 5.7 Hemi as an option, non e Torque. I had considered a Classic with the Hemi and it's 4" shorter than the newer Ram. I currently own a 2018 Ram, same as the current Ram Classic and it will fit in my garage, the newer Ram, too big. I am deciding on a new Ram Classic or a Nissan Titan, as they will fit in my garage.
