Sending it to Dodge cares sends a message, as I don’t think a lot of us here are overly enthusiastic. They could have designed the car for more than one form of power to the wheels. I don’t expect a miracle but I wouldn’t be surprised if the platform can support both full electric, or part ice part electric if market doesn’t appeal to it. Also they might want to capture a broader market.

Who was fool enough to think they could replace all the ICE muscle cars in 1 sitting with some warmed over, rebadged euro Alpha trash & a fake exhaust, pseudo Charger that's an EV ???

On a positive(??) note - it will be fun watching/listening to the dealers currently gouging customers on the last of the ICE vehicles when the showrooms are devoid of traffic in '24.

I talked to a guy at the local Dodge store and he told me that the EVs were never going to happen and they'll continue building the Charger and Challenger...

They don't seem to know what is going on.

I do plan to get a golf cart when I retire, but there's no way in hell I'm gonna pay whatever they are gonna want for this thing. And if I would want fake exhaust, I'd just play one of the clips from my old Dart race car with the cammed 440.

I voted no across the board. I'm not doing it because of the performance aspects, EV with infinite torque will always outperform. I'm doing it because it has far more serious energy and ecological impacts to the planet than if we stayed the course.

This is all a moot point. Just as Porsche changed the world with PDK transmission, their Hydrogen engines are going to make EV useless.

This F ed up world needs a reset. the whole car needs a redesign, starting with propulsion, they stsrted to get some styling on front view and back quarters where it meets B pililar and dropped the ball on every thing else including propulsion

When ONLY compared to the current and near term future EV offerings from everyone else, I think its great and blows the rest away. At least Dodge TRIED to make it more than a battery box with wheels. Price will make it more or less attractive depending on what it costs. If EV vehicles were the ONLY OPTIONS and used ICE were outlawed etc, Its a good start and a worthy effort and if forced to buy an EV Id be looking at this first. Having said that, Im not running out to buy one and I dont see myself ever having an EV as a "fun car" I'll keep my HC or buy something used. Im just not your target audience.

Boomers and GenX who are the most vocal against EVs and this car, are NOT the target audience. We are on the way out, our peak earning, and disposable income years are in the rearview mirror. With runaway inflation Id think that process is being sped up. Id say 2/3s of Millenials and most of Gen Z are the new $$$ and have been brainwashed by climate change religion. They will Buy EVs because fossil fuels have been demonized and they think their lives depend on getting rid of Oil, so the powers that be have convinced themselves and them this is the future. Personally I think Deglobalizaiton and the seemingly insurmountable issues with EVs just not being practical, Insufficent infrastructure and all the rest (which will likely take decades to resolve) may kill the movement or at least force the world to realize it has its place, but it isnt a wholesale replacement in 5, 10 or 20 years. I think Toyota and Ford are the only ones hedging their bets just in case.

I think Dodge is painted into a corner by Stellantis, a green worshiping company that not only drinks the koolaid but makes and sells it. Dodge is at their mercy regardless of what they themselves want to do.
For those that say Dodge will go out of business because of this car and this shift to EVs, maybe, maybe not. Regardless, Stellantis doesnt give a FK if they do or dont. If they dont, Stellantis makes $$, If they do, then there is one less PITA company and customer set that isnt on their bandwagon for them to deal with.
